Hi Tanya,
Thanks for your wishes. I'll definitely follow your advice! :)
Have a nice weekend!
Hi Tanya,
Sorry for my delayed reply. Actually I wasn't sure what to say and still I am. Though at last I decided it was impolite to leave your message with no reply at all. Perhaps you are right and it's better just to stop being concerned about it (you can open View Thread link to remind of what I am talking about).
Granted, I wish you have a wonderful day and success in your good deal! =)
All the best,
Oksana
Hi Tanya,
Yes, I noticed the same fact about Ukrainians. ;)
I am comparatively new in MyEC (about 3 months) and I really enjoy my stay here.
I estimate the hospitality and readiness to help which you show in your group. I definitely agree with your point about learners, the more so I am a learner too. But the thing is that the guy wasn't asking. He just put links to his website with lots of advertisement and short scraps of learning information. And he did the same in each numerous group. Is this fair?
I might be wrong, though.
Regards,
Oksana
I will be happy to stay in touch, I am enjoying talking with you! As to Sasha, I will probably be too busy for the next couple weeks to be much help, but after June 7 my time will free up more. I'll contact him after that.
I, too had a terrible teen-age, after my parents divorced (I was 14, my sister 7, my brother 2) my mom became an alcoholic and we basically had no parents, no supervision. Wasn't great and still feel repercussions today from poor decisions made then!
Oh, sure, I'd be happy to talk with him, Skype, email, snail mail, whatever works!
No, I don't hate lawyers! My step-son was a lawyer, now is a superior court judge. He is also very active with the state of California Judicial Council, particularly as it affects foster children. He has been very active, and will probably be successful, in getting help for foster children after the age of 18. Today once they are 18, they are out on their own but not ready. He hopes to fix that and provide more support. And my step-daughter is a forensic psychologist, which mostly means "expert witness" I guess. She works on capital cases only (death penalty). She works for the defense, interviewing clients on death row, to see if they are competent to stand trial, and to see if there are errors in previous court trials against them or other mitigating circumstances that might reduce their penalties.
Please feel free to DELETE my entries after you have read them! I seem to be taking a lot of room on your page! :-)
Here is the 3rd (and last) part:
-Then the ultimate is to watch TV WITHOUT the captioning on to see how much you can understand. Well, those are my thoughts. I'm not sure I actually set out to "learn" this. For me, it just happened over time as my hearing went from not so good, to bad, to profoundly deaf. I don't know if this helps you at all but if there is anything that I can do for you, you just need to ask.
Sorry it took me so long to get this to you. Good thing I was cleaning off my desk or who knows how long it might have been!!
