Hello dear Inga, I'm more than glad to have a lovely message from you. Thank you for always remembering me and for stopping by my page. How's your new job as a speech pathologist going on? I guess, it isn't a very easy job. You've worked as a teacher so I think that your teaching experience must be helping you with your new job. My best wishes are always with you. You sent me the photo of the flowers blooming in your area. They are very beautiful. I'm sure you have been enjoying Russian summer. Here in my country summer means unbearable heat. It's like sun is throwing fire on us. But on other hand we have milder winter with no snow and temperatures don't drop very low.

Burning grass is banned in Estonia.. all year around. But some people still sometimes do it at spring. Actually fire men get each spring a lot of work, because of it. But I think there's less of it recent years.

When I was younger, we did it too.. at our country house. My dad always burned it in some areas. Well, then it had some advantages.. But these days, I think its not so easily justified. U can actually cut pretty easily, grass with special tools in anywhere.. Also in places where u could not reach with scythe, that we had only tool available for cutting grass, back then. Yet burning it is the easiest and cheapest way. :P

In schools, kindergartens, hospital and all other that kind of buildings. The fire prevention regulations are much sticker, than just smoke detectors for homes. There they request automatically closing fire doors and a lot of other stuff.. So there it's really expensive. The smoke detectors for home is actually not too expensive, they were something 4 to 8 EUROs for piece, I think. And u can install them by your self. Just clue it to the middle of ceiling.. But they're just annoying to maintain..

I think u are highly rated by the kids you work with. ^_^

..U might be right that since there's better fire prevention these days. The governments can further optimize and reduce the fire/rescue structures. Yet I'm not sure, if the prevention is really so good.

We have the law that all homes have to have smoke detectors. But in reality. Many doesn't have them. I have one in my room. It's already second one for me. The first one broke. It started to wail at night.. something at 4 morning, when the sleep is sweetest. The only way to stop it, is to remove battery.. The second one I have, started to yell too, and also this one did it at night seemingly with no reason.. But this time, I think it yelled to remind me, that I need to replace it's battery. I did not have new battery at home.. and since the current one looked fine to me, I reinserted it.. And it did not start yell anymore.. So I think it just asked for maintenance, or smth.. So I still have it in my room. But the one in hallway I took down when it started to yell, with no reason again. Dad had to check it, but seems he haven't reinstalled it.... Probably it was broke too. Also my nephew doesn't have it anymore, because in his room, for some reason they start to yell after a while. He doesn't smoke.. so also there they do yell without reason. Maybe there's more dust or tiny bugs or whatever in that room. I think my dad also don't have it in his room anymore... Only me and my mom still have it.

So in end, they're no good. It's just some industry that makes this garbage, have succeeded to push government to make this law, to sell this garbage, that I'm even not sure, if it will really work at time, when it could save lives.

Thank you for the comment on my page. ^_^ I know nothing about architecture. So I don't know if those German buildings are here common, or not. But they must be, because of History of my country. Only thing, I can say, I'm not too fond of most of modern architecture. :)

Well, I liked that photo, because... I actually don't know. Maybe it's something more artistic.. Or something not so common. And the light and shadows... That building might be good subject for taking photos of light and shadow.. how they interact each other.. Those Sun light spots reflecting from windows.. and the building it self, is interesting too.. with all those corners.

By the way, I don't know if reflected sun light have some specific name in English. But I remember, when I was kid, we played with mirror to direct that sun light spot around. And we called it as "Sun's Rabbit"... Probably because it could move so fast?.. Is it called same way in Russian too?
