    Is everything ok, teacher...?

Drop me a line when you have

     the next stopover.

    I would like to know

the current status of the Oxford Dictionary!

We also need to move on

    to the next session,

    my dearest Study Partner.

Meanwhile, take good care of yourself.

    God Bless You, My Dear...!

  • Hi Galina!

I stumbled over the following inspirational words while browsing the net this morning. I'm glad to share it with you in the HOPE that it will brighten up your days ahead…!

Life can prove to be an amazing journey as well as present challenges that at times can be perceived as insurmountable.

But is their appearance blocking and keeping you from receiving all that you were intended? There is a perfect plan in place that enables and empowers you to attract and experience whatever you might choose for yourself.

We all have an important role to fulfill during this journey we call LIFE. The things we absorb along the way can sometimes leave us feeling overwhelmed, confused, and not sure which direction to follow. If these are what you're going through at the moment, just do the following:

Recall, Reclaim, and begin working toward fulfilling the purpose for which you were sent and you will find new meaning, joy, fulfillment, and a sense of deep inner peace in each and every area of your life.

    Hello commentsGalina!

I would like to "offer myself" to play dual role as personal tutor and internet guide of yours. Of course, it’s FOC.

Today I going to teach you how to embed (paste) those attractive greeting cards/graphics/texts/animations onto a webpage.

(Like what I’ve done to your wall, not leaving even a small patch of space!)

    1. You must know which website offers this service:

Here’s one for you to try: www.webpagecollection.com

(You can either click the link here or key in the link into your Internet Explorer Web Search Box – the one at the very top)

    2. At the home page you’ll see the greetings available are grouped in three different places on the same page.
    - You can select a category from the list on the left margin
    - Or you select by clicking the icons (small pictures) in the centre
    - Also you can choose from the listed topics at the bottom of the page

    3. For now, I want you to just have a look at a few graphics and get to know by trying few other categories as well.

Under each graphic you'll see the text:

copy & paste “…..” comments graphics code below to your profile”

Well, the code you see in each box is what you need to make each graphics appear on a webpage. I’ll teach you tomorrow how to transfer these codes to a web page, ok Dear?

    4. At the very bottom of each page of a particular category that you’ve picked you'll see a sequence of numbers:

    <<    1    2    3    4    5    6    >>

You simply click a number to go to the page to see more graphics from your picked choice of category.

    Good Luck, My Sweet Teacher!

    Goodnight!!

  • Galina!

Words can’t express how happy I am to learn that those links are the most needed helpful suggestions you were looking for. Now my only hope is that all your efforts will be well rewarded.

Just out of curiosity…, any idea of inviting me as well..? Because I need time to get my own mask and costumes and I promise that I won’t set foot into the hall with something spooky in nature...!

Oh yeah…, did you watch/listen to “Witch Doctor”. I like the lyrics and your students,as I said earlier, will definitely like it. Wish you all the best.......

  •

    Good Job, Galina!

I can feel the heat of the burning desire in you to elevate your English Language Proficiency to a much higher level. You astonished me with your positive attitude. I’m a proud “teacher” of a brilliantstudent”. Just hold my hand real tight; there’s more exciting things, I promise, for us to explore…! Are you prepared for that long journey, my dear!

Galina, I’m more than happy to hear that you love the whole idea about using “Thesaurus” in our everyday life. Well, what’s next…? I don’t need to tell you because to my greatest, “pleasant surprise" you’ve told me that you are going to use different choice of words in your sentences from now on… That’s what exactly I wanted to tell you today. You’ve saved me the trouble. Thank you, teacher!

Wow…! You didn’t leave any single word behind. You’ve got hold of almost all the synonyms of the five words I gave you. Bravo! Look world we have a tough challenger in the making. Excellent work, Galina!

Dear, the objective of our “CASH” is in the word itself. I want you to put all the ideas that I'm suggesting into practice, as much as possible, rather than completing some written exercises as an obligation. However, I do love to see you submitting some form of written work to me, once in a while, as it will give me a kind of nice feeling of being a teacher though I’m not exactly one.

In answering your question, “Any ideas what to do with the words?” well, just take note of the synonyms and use them whenever the need arises. Good Luck! Bye Dear…!

    Just me,
    ~ GS ~

PS – Galina, you haven’t answered my question 'Whether we can have our Study Sessions once in every three days!'

  • Hi!

    Good evening teacher Galina!

Just to let you know…, sweetie, I’m a late learner of English;  who long ago exceeded the normal “age requirement”. So, can you tolerate with my “progress retardation”, please? At times I get petrified when you give me that unforgiving stare. Don’t you know how much I yearn for that radiant smile on my teacher’s face, instead?

Ok Dear, let me stop my “soliloquy” before you yell, “What the h**l are you blabbering about, Gabriel….?”

Actually, this is a follow-up of our yesterday’s Study Session. The objective is to demonstrate how our writings could be turned into an interesting piece if only we take the trouble to look for another choice of word in a thesaurus.

The following list is divided into two groups: Group - A -   and   Group - B

Group A shows the words that we normally tend to use in the above writing.

Whereas, Group B gives an alternative word for each word in Group A that is relevant but interesting. Again, this can be only achieved if we, as I said yesterday, make it a habit to refer to our thesaurus as often as we could.

    The task:

If you can, read the whole thing again but this time you use the words in Group A instead of the underlined words. Write to me, when you have the time, which sounds better - Group A or Group B?

    “     A      ”              “     B      ”

    passed           –      exceeded

    bear               –      tolerate

    scared            –      petrified

    stern              –      unforgiving

    look               –      stare

    long               –      yearn

    monologue      –      soliloquy

    scream           –      yell

    show              –     demonstrate

    Note:

Thesaurus should be treated with caution. Not all words could be used in the same “context”.

    Suggestion:

You can share this idea, using the thesaurus effectively, with your students. Once they have tried, you can talk to me, one of these day, about their responses - either positive or negative.

Well Dear! Shall we call it a day for tonight? Take Care!

    Yours,

    Gabriel
