I am so lucky today because my wifi is not working.... just in time where I posted the lesson and the quiz....

My motto for the day:  SO TIMING! What a beautiful coincidence!

Why lucky?  Because it happened on the first day.  The quiz has a duration period of 3 days.  I still have time to fix my wifi.  If it will take time to fix it, I will have to make a public apology for hosting the lesson, lol!

Happy to see ya!

I'm tired but ok Nida, dear. I hope your reading is going well.

Now that I know that you want to be a writer, I have to insist that you let me see early drafts of your books once you are brave enough to start writing. You are like Lady Anne, you can do what you want, once you build your confidence to the point that you let yourself begin.

I have no doubts in your ability. I just know you well enough that I don't expect anything tomorrow. Still, where there is a will, there is a way with smart people like you. If you want it badly enough you can and will do it.

Your first writing will not be perfect and it may take a while to get it to the point that publishers pay you for your work. I know that it can be, if you are willing and as we say in Araby inshallah.

Show me what you can do and I will be behind you 100%. You have the brains, if you have the will to do this. Otherwise I hope to see you become a teacher and share your passion for learning and reading. You could actually do both.

It is Thursday night and the beginning of my weekend. I need to rest and recover now, but I do hope to hear some of your ideas for stories soon if you will truly try to become a writer. It is a great thing to do, but so is teaching and I also really love teachers who work to improve the world. :)  Whatever you do, I will be proud of your achievements as a father is of his child. I am not your father and have really done nothing for you but encourage you to use what you know and to forget your fear of writing. You have pulled the strenghth from within yourself to become what you have. You owe nobody but yourself and I hope to see you continue. :)

I'm glad you started with the Hobbit, Nida. It makes the rest of the books fit together better. I read all of these books every few years. I was very fortunate to take a Fantasy English Literature course when I was in University. All of these books were on our reading list as well as several more. Imagine reading great literature and getting credit towards graduation.

I also took a wonderful literature class in Science Fiction and "had to" learn the history of Science Fiction and read lots of classics for that class.  The final project was to choose an author and read a number of books by them and write a research paper. I hope you will give some thought to comparing some writers as you get more things read. A lot of the best books have been made into movies, which I hope you avoid until you have finished every book in a series.

Another good Sci-Fi adventure series was by Frank Hebert, who became interested in dry lands ecology after he was already a writer. The first book is Dune and the best place to start. If you notice some relationship to Islam thousands of years in the future and across a galaxy or two, you won't be alone.  Surprise endings are important so i will say no more except that the first book written in 1965 was way ahead of it's time.

As for Princess Bride, you made it through the slower part of the book and just to the point where the real adventure story begins. To me, the rest of the book has every bit of the adventure that you will find in the Hobbit if not more. I hope you will take the opportunity after your next series to read some more and see why I like it so much. The first is more love story and the last is pretty wild adventure. The part where Goldman talks about why parts were left out by his father is his way of making fun of writing, editing and academics. He is making fun of his own life and his wife and kids in the book are also fiction. So some of this may be a little more difficult to understand for someone who didn't grow up in an English speaking country. My sincere suggestion is that you pick it up next time you finish reading something else and just force your way through it.  After a year or two read it again and those parts make more sense. I'm not sure how many times I read it, but every time different things stand out in my mind.

Your reading will continue to be enjoyable and helpful to you when you write a blog afterward. I personally don't like to tell too much about a book because it spoils the ending for others. also people someties won't then read it because they already heard the ending.  Have a wonderful time with your reading and please let me know when you blog because i don't get time to log in and check all the blogs like I used to.

Such a delayed reply needs a delayed answer.

Roro is busy with her upcoming blog.  So we have to respect her silence.  Well, I can say that she is a good leader because she lets her followers initiate things without her consent just like in blogging.  All her followers have already written their blogs.

Remember that a good leader is a good follower, too!  And she is just performing her role superbly.  Isn't she fabulous?
