I have never started any general discussions, but I do feel like doing it today. First, I will tell you about my friend, my collaborator and a member of my band who died in a car crash about two…Continue
Dear friends! I have just joined the EC as my wife has been its member for many years and always talks about you. We do have a lot in common, but why not to have more? I am a native speaker and hope to be useful. But no grammar questions, please! Tanya says I am illiteral and I always ask her to correct my articles before having them published.
A few words about myself. I have been born and raised in Boston. My mother and my grandfather were university teachers at Harvard and I grew up with the idea that education, knowledge, common sense and human reason are the most valuable in this world. However, living through my life I realized there is much more to it! But being a university teacher I should tell you: knowledge is our main power. It is not weapons that makes us stronger, it is only our desire to make this word better than it is.
I'd like to show you the place where we live. It is really wonderful. I have been living in Florida for 30 years and I swear, I have never seen such beauty although I traveled much. We live in a rather small town called Crystal River, in the mid-Florida. It is at the west coast, not far from Tampa. The fact is that the river is really very clean. Its water is transparent and one can see everything on the bottom. I am not a master of photo, so I will add the one from the net. You won't believe that ocean creachers like lamatees live here. I have no idea who permitted to build a nuclear power station here! Anyway, come to our land and be our guests or stay forever.
My dear friends, I always keep my word! I have promised you a funny contest and here it is! I “collected” the funniest mistakes I came across reading your blogs, comments and my personal correspondence and wrote many funny nightmare stories to make you laugh and realize what you say. However, if the authors want to compete, I can only help and encourage them! Hahaha!
So, here are 50 “best” mistakes that made me laugh and gave me inspiration. Now, I’d like each of you to choose 5 of…Continue
Hi, my dear learners, my true friends! Who else can give me such inspiration?! I should have posted this blog much earlier but you know, all my nightmares are the result of your mistakes. I just couldn’t think up the plot without your help. But I am ready to tell you a great story if you don’t mind reading my…Continue
Here is the sentence I read:
“I have a shoe in one leg and another leg is bare.”
Doesn’t it make you…Continue
Well, my friends! I promised you the happy end and here you are! However, before reading the story, you are expected to read my usual introduction presenting and explaining your mistakes. Hope you will find a few minutes to look through them.
So, here are the expressions that inspired my imagination.
Hi, my friends! You know every time I read your masterpieces before going to bed, I always see some weird nightmares. This time one of the expressions threw me back to the age of slavery. I don’t mind feeling a slave just for a change. So, here are the expressions that made my fantasy go so far.
My dear friends! You know, since I joined EC, I have never slept well and I have seen a lot of different nightmares. This time my nightmare was mostly provoked by your typos. You know that English spelling is not a piece of cake. Only one wrong vowel may change the meaning of a word and a whole sentence. So, here are the words and expressions that made me see one more nightmare.
