 Hi guys, this time in my post related to the aviation world  I wanna talk about some of the most known airlines in the present days. Practically all the countries of the world count on at least one airline and that same companies do care for passing on not just comfort, but also compassion and benign for its thousands of passengers that use air services daily. To start with, I'd put in the first position: Emirates Airlines.

 Emirates Airlines is considered one of the world's top airlines because of the high standards of hospitality and service for its passengers. It's recognised too by providing for kids a special area in the bussines and first class of the flights where they can play freely. The worrying of Emirates about the childish world goes far beyond: Emirates provides as well: bassinets, baby formulas , toys and in-flight entertainment packages for  kids a bit older.

 Right after we can rank the airline company British Airways. In my opinion, this one has one of the most attractive looks in the current aeronautical market. I think its vivid red and blue colors on the company fuselage draw my atention a lot. The company features by implementing a feed policy both for kids and adult passengers. According to the policy always should be provided first meal for kids and then for adults. As regards toddlers, British Airways thought in free ride for them in the flights.

 Singapore Airlines, is other big company special for caring the travel with families. This one is equipped with an affable staff and a varying menu for all age brackets what becomes the flight time with more comfortable, enjoyable and tasty memories.

 Qatar Airways was ranked as the best air company 2 times in a row, 2011 and 2012. The awards is due to its 5 stars cabin service for passengers. This company is utilised worlwide mainly for mid and upper walks of life . Its services are more expensive than other companies.

 Lufthansa, other respectful company, as others, also gives much importance  to the travel in family. Offer luxuous coats for the infants and  serves  a special menu for them and for the kids in general.

 Gulf Air offers for babies "air nannies" which  assist the mother on flight  in activities ranging from feeding, pampering and entertainment.

 Virgin America try to give executive service for all members of the family in flight. The services are given the best manner possible, counting on with luxurious resources not just  inside the flights but also in the airports before departuring.

  So guys, that's the end of my post about airplane companies, hoping you've enjoyed it. Feel free to correct my mistakes  shown here, after all, I'm a learner, an avid person just in search of knowledge . Your comments, suggestions and corrections are always welcome indeed. See ya!!!

Cruise Ship Disaster in Italy: 17 January 2012

Discussion Question: Should a crew wait for all of passengers to be safely off board a damaged vehicle before abandoning it? What about "survival instincts"?

 In order to answer the question I'll try to be reasonable , because this question faces complex human issues: right to life, right to security, right to protection to name a few.

 I notice when it comes to the wreckage of the cruise ship "Costa Concordia" we have to analyse what right should bear in mind before anything else, and for sure the leading right is the right to life.

 I believe when you're at the position of a trained and responsible employee, whatever be your professional performance field, you have the right to think priority about the customer's security  to just later on thinking about your own security . Applying this reasoning to the case, the ship's employees had surely the professional and mainly ethical duty to protect the passenger's lives without hesitation, before worrying about themselves.

 The attitude of the cruise ship commander charged with abandoning the ship before passengers evidences us the superposition  of values nowadays:  egocentrism, dishonesty and lack of professionalism over humanitarianism, ethics and professionalism.

 Having said that,  I don't wanna claim I deny  the survival instincts of the  ship's crew members in such an awful tragedy, but I  hold a superposition of priorities: the first goal in an action plan  should be the passenger's safety and the second one the protection of the crew lives. Even as everything in life we have to put priorities,  that case is not an exception to the rule. The case in my viewpoint sums up to the  ideas of granting priority, solidarism and professional responsability for the good-driving of a crowd of innocent passengers.

 To conclude, I'd say every transport company is completely in charge of leading its passengers to their final destinations in a safe way.

No Way Gadgets on the Flight?

 Hello guys, I'm back here to continue my post's series about the enchanting world of aircrafts and aviation. So, this post I will talk about the old, and why not, well-known rule: It's prohibited use of phones along the flight time.

 The rule which I refer me,It's the one which determines is totally not allowed the use of any means of communication on airplanes, in heights below 3,000 m due to the interference in the aircraft's signals . This rule applies even when the airplane is on the flight mode.

 The reason for that restriction is simple: our gadgets like tablets, iPods, Smartphones, laptops  emit  radio waves to communicate with mobile networks and Internet. On the other hand,  aircrafts belong  avionics which keep and support  the air navigation working properly,  It's theoretically thought the radio waves emitted by communication devices are able to cause harm to the good functioning of plane on its flying. One solution for this prohibition it could be the manufacture of devices which emit signals less strong indeed!

 No accident was proved to have  happened because of our modern gadgets so far, but US researchers are in search of the answer to that issue, and so solve the mystery providing us an ultimate reply to this question. Until there, It's better all of us folllow the present rule  so that we cannot face no bad experience when flying, and the most important: it hasn't  it just because simple glances at our social networks' pages.

 See you again next post guys, Cheers!!!

How an Airplane Slow Down?

 Hello guys, proceeding my blog posts about the world of aircrafts I want to share with you this opportunity what hides behind the system of  slowdown of an airplane. As I'm not a technician for this area I'll try to explain for all of you the subject using the simplest way I can. So guys, pay attention and check out all the steps of this process  below.

 We can think about three systems which do an airplane stops. Commercial aircrafts have basically  three  slowdown systems: flaps, reverse thrusters and wheel brakes. The airplane slowdown happens when these three ways of slowdown play a role together or sequentially in the landing.

 1st Slowdown system: FLAPS

 Flaps are structures found on the airplane wings, which stay extended about  5-10 minutes of descending, allowing the airplane decelerate before touchdown. Pilots can configurate the extend time demanded for decelerating the aircraft.

2nd Slowdown system: SPOILERS

 Also called air brakes, speed brakes or simply aileron, these structures with the help of the air apply a  backward force on the airplane's wings making it slow down.

3rd Slowdown system: REVERSE THRUSTERS

 This tool comes in action right after the airplane's wheels touch the ground. In fact, the goal of the reverse thrusters is redirect the engine thrust to the airplane stopping. The reverse thrust changes significantly the performance of the thrust in the aircraft flight. You yourself can notice when reverse thrusters are in action. It's this moment  the noise  is more intense and you also can see water or dust droplets come out from the engines. It's a moment which the engines are heard and seen in a sensory experience!

4th Slowdown system: WHEEL BRAKES

 This resource is applied gradually once the rear and front airplane's  wheels touch on the runway. Note that, if airplanes count down just the wheel brakes for landing and decelerate, it took a bigger length of runway to stop safely, thus the aircraft stop interval would be very greater. Some airplanes have auto brakes which pilots can determine their stopping intensity for low, medium or high.

 So, I hope the fans of aviation have enjoyed my particular post for today about the airplane's stopping systems. If you see some scientific mistake in my post or just want to add some suggestion, comment  to enrich my post, feel at ease as for me  ! After all, fans always work together to build up solid knowledge about their interests.

SEE Y'ALL!!!

Do You know How an Airplane Fly?

 Hello guys, I'm Daniel, writing here this time to explain a question that for a long time I asked myself: What explains the fly of   airplanes? This question got better my understanding about the subject in my mind before I have read an article that answered this . So, I want to show for you what I've learnt from this reading, sharing with all of you here and now my observations about the airplane flying and, of course, making clear for who doesn't know the motivation for the aircrafts fly, the reasons beneath that event.

 So, let's get to work!

 As far as I read, any airplane needs four basic forces in order to keep itself flying . These forces are: DRAG, THRUST, LIFT and WEIGHT.

 The drag is a force we can say that works against the airplane's trajectory making it slow down. It's the opposite force to the thrust, causing both together the flying of the airplane.

 The thrust is an importan force as well, making the airplane move forward. The airplane gets this force when it blows air from its engines backwards.

 The weight force, is an obvious force like its denomination suggests for us when reading it. It's a force responsible for keeping the airplane neither bended down from the front or back.

 Lastly, we can mention the lift. The lift is a force that pushes up the airplane. You know, airplanes are made in a such way the air move around its wings. So, as the air moves around the wings and under it, it gets enough lift to take off.

 So, I hope you guys have known a little bit more about airplane's running through my little post, and see ya next time!

 Hello guys, I want  to let for you a picture about the  features of a perfect language learner that was shared on a Facebook group which I take part. This chart is very interesting because it summarizes all the most important aspects which any learner wants to achieve at any point of your  life as student.

 Analyzing the picture, I noticed how much I still need to get better as a "perfect learner". I'm just a newcomer when it comes to folow the rules expresses by this picture. For example, I need to start to remind my new vocabulary in English  6 times over hours, days and weeks. I need to be braver , challenging myself to use as much as possible the new words I always learn when I read. So, you should have noticed how I'm not a "perfect learner" yet. LOL!!! So, It's high time for me to get to work! I finish my tip  hoping you sincerely enjoy  and  think over  the guidelines pointed out  below are being really tracked for you. This picture made me rethink my studying performance from another angle. It says to me to change some concepts in my learning journey.   See ya!!!

 Hello everybody here,  as there are already a few weeks  I've  been thinking about the world of the English language, and then crossed my mind to answer the question: why English is considered a major language? What can have lead to that? So, these are just the questions I want to explicit  here. At first, It could be a curious question, but the reasons for this event make sense when you get to know them  deeply . So, I will try to show for you some of that reasons through my post today, in order to  satisfy my and your likely curiosity about the subject. I hope you enjoy it!

1 - English has simplicity, but, richness at the same time;

  English has 26 alphabets and uses only its 26 alphabets, so, it's a very economic language and don't need to borrow alphabets from other languages, as many other languages do. Moreover, English is rich to express your ideas when framing its words or sentences.

2 - English is a stylish language;

  You can express yourself in English the way you want or think properly. English can be called a language which has "style" in writing and speaking. That is, everyone that write or speak in English can evolve your own style, your own way. Just you start writing to prove what I'm reffering to here.

3 - English is a language with easy understandability;

  Even though, some persons cannot agree with that, English is a language easy to understand when compared to other languages. I'm a living example of this. It doesn't mean that English is the easiest language in the world, but, it's not so difficult  how many persons think. Just to make clear my point, look: If you write a text with the wrong sentence " me from Canada" you, even, can be undestood.

4 - English is a language with huge acceptance of  words;

  English features by allowing a big influx of foreign terms. When there aren't similar words, in meaning, to express a certain idea  Englis borrows that word and put it wit a authentic English accent in dictionaries. English was very influenced by Latin and French languages all over its history of formation. For example, words like "entrepeneur", "fiancée-to-be", "criteria", "phenomenon" and many others which  derive from other linguistic roots. So, when English incorporates words which there aren't in its own vocabulary , that becomes it more resourceful in the way how it can be written and spoken by all of us, including ESL/ EFL learners. That's it, English is a multi-cultured and rich language . Curiosity: The Oxford English Dictionary has currenty a lack of about 1 million of words to express non-existent concepts in the English vocabulary.

5 - English has rulled technology and invention fields;

  Everybody knows, when it comes to the world of new devices and new machines most of them come with their instruction manuals written in English. So, no wonder, English is an outstanding language in the modern world, where, more and more, machines, robots, are taking on the place of  ancient workers at factories. With English , got much more easy  for developers and designers of  Informatics  to build up a new program or  computer, since, most of operating system used by them are in English as a default language.

6 - English  influenced linguistically many territories;

  At the time of English colonisation, England insisted on people to learn it as your main tongue, doing the language very widespread through several parts of the world. Adding that, people that learned English saw it like a precious activity, keeping this attitude till these days.

  So, these are some brief reasons for the fact that English is an undeniable universal language. Bye bye, see you next post guys!!!

Writing Challenge - I have a dream

 When I was a child, I intended to be a pilot of  modern airplanes. Let me explain: I have always liked the exciting world of aviation: modern aircrafts, great airlines and respectful aeronautical industries like Airbus or Boeing, by the way, keep on being them, the most preferred factories  by me,  when it comes to the production of airplanes. I even started a collection of airplane magazines called "Flap Magazine" in my young ages, that today, unfortunately, is finished up.

  Nowadays, my plans are a little different than they used to be, yet, I haven't left to enjoy airplanes, in the other way around, I still enjoy a lot these wonderful inventions. For me, airplanes are, without a shadow of a doubt, the most genial creation of society ever. It's simply amazing to think how a man called Santos Dumont , there in France, times ago,  could have planned,  so perfectly, such a spectacular flying "creatures". Today, I think, as a goal, about speaking English fluently and comfortably ( if possible like a authentic British  - LOL - Oh! I love that accent so much! ) to  travel to some countries that draws my attention and know there, friendly and interesting persons ; ). That is the goal  which cross my mind at the moment.

 My dream can have changed from my chilhood to these days, but anyway, I don't get frustrated because of this.  I'm super excited about having a new goal , which i like to seek day by day.

  In order to achieve my goal, I'm practising a lot listening, speaking, reading and writing in English, this way, I try to get in touch with foreigner friends in social networks as much as possible,  listen to podcasts in English and read and write in many sites of the Web. However,  my weak point is in my need to speak much more English, so that I can  give rise to the needful confidence when speaking in real situations.

 My mistakes are about spelling area of learning. I will quote just two of the deceptive spelling words  which I had some difficulty to write correctly.

  The first one I remember is the own word that entitle this post: "writing". I don't know the reason why I wrote this word like this: "writting" ( exactly so! with two "t" in it). I think I was matching the spelling of this word with some spelling rule of the English grammar at some point of my studies.

  Reading a lot, both here (in the blog posts) and other sources of reading all over the web, I've noticed that I was making a big mistake writing. I don't even know if it has still some "wrtting" on  my posts over here. I have to check this out really!

  The second word which I used to spell wrongly was "unnecessary". I wrote it: "unneccessary"(two "u", "n" and "s" inside it) . Quite weird English word with three kinds of letters repeated along the same word!

  I was able to get right that second mistake, again by noticing the writting of  native speakers. You can believe the reading of a good text written by a native one, it can make the difference for us - foreigner learners - when writing by ourselves!

  That's it!  Bye!!

 Hello readers, this week I've been thinking about an example of courage, discipline that could keep me motivated to learn more and more the English language. You know, I think often times, I'm just wasting study time without no way of discipline, organisation and mainly no  effective outcome in my daily routine of the independent language studies, then, why not we have an inspiration in the harsh discipline of the spartan warriors for boosting the studying habits?

(photo source:  livescience.com/18700-ancient-helmet-greek-warrior)

 Sparta is a society  strongly known for its hard  millitary  life. Loyalty to the state and to the millitary service were mandatory at that time. The society of Sparta had the height of its millitary power after deceiving of the rival state-city Athens in the Peloponnesian War between 431 and 404 BC. Aged 7 the spartan little boys got into "Agoge" system, featured by millitar training, socialisation programs and  educational services all offered by Spartan state. It was stressed for the young warrior boys : DUTY, DISCIPLINE and ENDURANCE. It's about these three words applied to the English learning world  I want to talk in this post.

 The duty of spartans can be thought as your study in the target language. Duty, for me, as a learner, means, ground, foundation, groundwork which you can build up wonderful monuments, great achievements. So, if you want to develop one of these "monuments of language" on your own foundation, you must build up a solid one before. Study is at the end, the means for you reach any goal you want your life. So, listen, read and write as much as you can  so that you can have a good knowledge. It's completely fun to do that!  I enjoy so much spend my time reading, writing and speaking in other language. After all, we are what we do continuously! Everyone that is  a fluent speaker of English today, times ago was a mere learner, but, for sure, a commited one.

  Discipline is a word which I can say that I hadn't while ago in my learning and today I know what is its value and weight in my process of learning . Currently, I'm trying hard to put it in practice so often as I can. It's a highly important concept for all of us learners. Without discipline we are only a fake of true learners. True learners love so much learn, they concern themselves with where, how and what they will learn daily, in order to make the most of us their abilities. With no organisation you don't reach any goal you had planned  in your mind, you're  simply wasting your time and energy in unnecessary things. At the end of a unruly learning day you notice how much you are tired , even though, without effective results.

  Endurance is one of that words which is " Easier said than done" in my view. I confess, at times, I can even get a little bit unmotivated but, I cannot let just a difficult moment along the journey  do I lose my focus and what I built up in terms of skills so far. Endurance is strengthened with time and patience. Endurance goes fortifying itself like an athlete works out your muscles on a gym everyday. So, give a time for your self-confidence grow and strenghten until the time you can proceed to another level.

  So guys, these are some of my thoughts for today in this post. I hope you can follow my "spartan advices" in a sucessful learning. Bye bye !

  Definitely English is consolidated as a worldwide language. Good? Bad? Everyone seems to have a ready response to this issue. I strongly believe it is needed to have a language which can allow us keep a standardised communication among the different cultures of this big world.
   Just imagine if we had to learn a new language every time we wanted to go to a certain country either for pleasure or on business. How hard it would be!
   If on one hand, many persons can say the English is ruining the national identities by breaking the borders, on the other hand, "this world-wide language code" allowed and still allow a big exchange of valuable things.
   Through a communication grounded on a single language we can have big fluxes of scientific findings, researches in general, technologies, teaching, learning, people, money, products, services and everything you can imagine to put on this listing. At long last English as a global language has putted on the whole world on a illuminated stage where the knowledge is what worth more, after all, we're in the information era.
   Talking about my own personal experience with English I can firmly say it has opened a lot my horizons to knowledges restricted by the utilised language which I couldn't even imaginate I would be reading these days on articles, news, websites and any source of information useful or interesting to me.
   I recognise that the cultural influence is a simultaneous process when it has a homogenisation process, like this occured with the language spoken all over the world, but I think the adoption of English as a standard language is an element which we have to face unavoidably because the more humankind progresses in technology the more coalition is required in order to all societies can benefit itself from this new discoveries. Who doesn't spoken English today, fatally is excluded the best things this world can offer to us. At the same time, I believe too, the national cultures must be protected to the maximum so that we can have memories to tell to the forthcoming generations, this is so important as well, memories are our own history, they are ourselves!

  Hello everyone, this post I want to try to answer the following question elaborated by me: What do you have more difficulty to learn in a foreign language? I challenge you think over about this question at the end of my post.

  That's a good question to be answered, at least, a single time in the life of every learner. Perfect topic! I confess I face and I'll still face many difficulties along my learning life. After all, languages are like mutant beings, they always have something new to introduce to us.

  First and foremost, If you're a good learner you will try hard to beat any hurdle that crosses your path, whatever that hurdle can be the hardest one that you have ever seen.

  In my case, I've already been a self-taught for 2 years now, so, hurdles can be even more "strong" or "agressive" when you're willing to be away from any means of support like a teacher. You just can count on your own abilities to unfold that tricky topic of the studied language.

  Even though that, I do my best for getting over any trouble on the way. My mental strenghts are completely focused on learning. If you don't understand something, ask someone. It costs nothing! I'm a learner, and learners should take the most of their learning experience. For me, that should be the learner's obligation, a mandatory if it really wants to move forward in a different language of yours. Always ask for help and give help to others learners.

  We have to accept as well, we're imperfect learners as well as we're imperfect humans. We cannot know everything at one go! We will always make mistakes, but trying to enhance forever, this is the most important! I'm not a robot, but a living creature craving to learn correctly as much as possible.

  Considered everything that, I'm resigned with my mistakes here and there. They definitely take part in the process of assimilation of the new skills.

  For sure, along time I will be able to improve a bunch of mistakes I usually make today. That is, I will decrease the frequency of them in my speaking and reading. I hope so!!!

  At the beginning of my learning experience, I used to make silly mistakes, like the conjugation of the verb "to be" and the addition of the "s" to the third persons (he,she,it) of the affirmative form of the Simple Present.

  In the present days, after 2 years of study I  have hard times with other aspects of language: usage of prepositions, Present Perfect ( simple form and continuous/progressive form), phrasal verbs, listening and above all speaking, my worst knowledge among all that  which I quoted  here. At times, It looks like I don't know how to pronounce no word in English. That's quite weird!! I need urgently devote myself to the practical conversation. Maybe, a frequent conversation will lead me to fix  better in my mind the acquired skills I have.

  Listening follows the same scheme: the more you listen up the better you become in it! I always read that in the  teacher's articles  written all over the Web.

  So my friend these are my "hurdles" ( I always try not cope with them as hurdles, but natural events) to be beaten. Reading a lot, listening more and speaking too much, after all we learn a second language so that we can become someday fluent!

  Thanks for taking your time for reading my post. If you want to, drop me a suggestion and/or correction about my writing performance here. Goodbye, See you!!!

  Hello everybody, this post I will share with you a text developed for me to just show how important and meaningful  the habit of reading is in my daily life nowadays. I hope you  inspire yourself to dare to try to read something next time you come close to some reading material.

  Reading for me is one of the best tasks when you're learning something either by pleasure or by studying. It's like a long, long journey which you do to a distant but so dreamed destination.

  When reading I can tell you I liberate myself of heavy troubles existing in my mind, troubles of that kind annoy you all the time.

  I'd say I'm still in process of finding out of the pleasure of reading. In fact, I couldn't even imaginate that reading it has been a so grateful routine, the habit of reading  can bring us a feeling of lightness, I say, a sensation of intellectual freedom and discovering of how capable we, insignificant creatures in a unthinkable vast Universe, are to learn and store so many informations in our brain all day long. These days, I have a good fluidity of words, phrases, ideas hovering  in my mind which lead me including writing this text here, right now!

  I usually read daily, always I have the possibility to do it, you know, modern world, brings together modern life too, which express through lack of time for the active individuals of the 21st century.

  I enjoy reading materials linked to History, Geography, and, of course, materials about language learning ( mostly English ). By the way, at the moment, I'm reading a lot  grammars of English, English articles, English news and almost everything related to  English learning. I suppose my affair with learning is making me go ahead more and more in English!

  As for the reason I read a lot, I'd answer this questioning in a way simple enough : It's an indescribable will to go on reading! Simple like that! It's just that chaps!

  To conclude my personal review on the habit of reading, I want to advise you to search for a reading on your personal taste for starting  the wonderful process of reading in your life. I assure you won't regret  having started reading something, come on! let's go, wake up your brain for valuable times of reading!

  Hi readers, this time I will share with you some reasons for keeping going a hard task, mainly for who is beginning in the language journey: Writing in the studying language. I confess it's not so simple as many persons can imagine. But, true is, it's simple miraculous way of memorising, fixing in your mind what you've learned until now. So, follow my remarks about this important part of learning.

  In first place I'd say we speak in the same way we write. Just assume that when you're writing something, you have to listen that text first on your mind, it's like you had to produce that content on your mind to right after convey it to paper or an editor text on your computer. So, writing in a certain way molds the way you speak.

  I'd say too, that writing make us  use all the words and grammar constructions we're learning at the moment, and to solidfy those we've already learned. It is said that for  a word or phrase can get stucked  in our mind, we need hear or write it about 30 times, so writing constantly, you can maximize the rate to reach this goal,for being able, at the end, to have new words or phrases sticked to your mind.

  Going on I say that writing helps us to link words and grammars we're learning with our daily context of living. The  "emotional connection" between what we're learning and our lives make us have a greater retention of studying material. Remember that writing about what we're living, about what we are interested in, always helps us  to learn better things.

  Searching for, preferably a native speaker, correcting your writings it's simply a good idea too. After  that corrections made by a real speaker of that language you will have a valuable stuff of searching and studying for when you forget that thing you learned at the beginning of your learning journey. Unfortunately, our mind works so, we always forget what we aren't remembering constantly. So, you should always take a look at you wrote because this make you become your acquired knowledge, consolidated  into your brain.

  Finally, writing is a good way of self-assesment for any learner because it can visualise how far it's reached. So, this way, you can analyse what points you went ahead and what points you need to keep on going ahead in order to get to that long-hoped fluency.

  That's it in my view my MyEC friends, so bye bye!!!

  Hello bloggers and readers over here ;) I want to tell you my view on the differences between my mother language - Portuguese - and my target studying language, the beloved English.

  So, first, I can mention that the differences start in the HISTORIC PAST, that is, the history behind both languages. The roots of English are a bit different from Portuguese, even though, English has suffered influence of French and Latin in some aspects. English has in its groundwork, mainly germanic roots and Portuguese mainly latin roots.

  In second place, I can mention the NUMBER OF SPEAKERS of each language. Portuguese has approximately  218,000,000 speakers all over the world, It is the sixth language most spoken in the world. Include countries like: Portugal, Angola and Brazil, my homeland. In contrast, English is the third most spoken language, with about  545,000,000 speakers, including places like USA, UK, parts of Oceania and many other to quote here.

  Not least important, I'd say  VOCABULARY. Portuguese has a vast collection of words. Many of them, aren't so used nowadays, but, we can say, we "Portuguese speakers" have a large dictionary of words. In English, I dunno if it's just an impression mine, the words have multiples, several meanings for just one thing, the English words, oftentimes, stand for many things, while in Portuguese that doesn't happen. In Portuguese, for each meaning, idea, or whatever be, you have a specific word for it. Whereas, in English, you can count on, sometimes, just one word for expressing several meanings, definitions. That's what I think Its so cool in English, word's economy! That should exist in Portuguese too, that helps to facilitate for us, users of a language, when expressing our reasoning.

  Next, I put as more one of the differences between the two languages, SPELLING AND INTONATION. I decided to put together these two aspects, because I consider the spelling of a word very linked to its intonation when speaking. Every single word in a only word, can, at times, modify the sound which it is pronounced a word, and even, change its meaning, depending on, that word has homonyms words. For me, English has a hard spelling, because uses a lot of consonants, what doesn't happen in my mother tongue. As for intonation, I consider English with a more hard intonation, just because, we Portuguese native speakers, have difficulties with some sounds in English. For instance, I had and I still have , a big difficult with the supression of the letter "r" at the end of some words of the Brittish English intonation. In sum, English is a more vocalised language than Portuguese. Haha!!! At times, we - English learners -  have to have a small "singer side" inside us for being able to speak simple daily words!

  Lastly, I'd speak more about GRAMMAR RULES. This point I'd say English is more easy to memorise than Portuguese is. Portuguese has a battalion of rules in its grammar, detail: I get confused with so many Portuguese verb tenses!!! Even though, English has too, several rules, in my personal taste, English is more simplified as to this aspect.

   So, I think these are the main differences for me, between my native language and a second language like English is for me. Thank you for reading, see you!

 I know most of us have some disbelief in this major  web-encyclopedia, but, calm, don't overdo it! I can list some steps which you can follow to assure you're extracting a secure-source web material ; )

1 - Pay attention in the source(s) of the article(s);

  First, look at if the article which you are acessing is provided by more than one source or not. If it has just one source, beware it cannot be a good option to extract informations from it to your school, college work;

2 - Verify the external links of it are trustworthy;

   Some articles on Wikipedia have one or several external links to other sources or even other articles. The external sources have to confirm the content which is explicited in the derived Wikipedia article. By the way, the external articles have to be classified as good, excelent, trustworthy and so on. If so, you are in the right way for a great source of information on Web.

3 - Check out if there are experts or contributors talking about the article(s);

   Having specialised contributors commenting about an article is an evidence that content has a big probability to be secure for other users.

4 - Wikipedia: the starting for a good research based on Web content;

   I want to remember you Wikipedia should be a beginning for a research which is being born and not the starting and the end at the same time for your "job". So, you should search for other good websites which deal with that issue, so that your  school work becomes more complete.

* Do you know what is  "EDIT WARS"?

   So, If you don't, I can explain right now. "Edit Wars" are controversial updates about same subject in a Wikipedia article, I explain better, two or more contributors edit a same article based on your bias. The good news are: by 2004  Wikipedia's establishers could solve this issue by creating " Arbitration Committee".

* Disadvantages of Wikipedia for the traditional encyclopedias;

 - No guarantee of inclusion all subjects, neither to give a good treatment which some subjects deserve;

 - Articles can be incomplete in its content covering;

 - Some  Wikipedia's contributors can be forgetting to cite the sources of its articles, what can make hard to determine the conffidence level of the content.

     To finish my post, I hope you can put in practice some these advices quoted above in order  you suceed in your research activity in the next time! Bye bye!!

 Hi everybody, in one more  post on this MyEc blog section I want to talk about reasons that lead somebody not to achieve the  longed fluency in English.

 #First excuse: " I'm not so good at languages"

  That is a popular excuse for not to advance in fluency process, but remember that you have or not have ease in any idiom, the first thing you have to have is willingness to learn, the will for learning will lead you to another level of view for the learning process.

# Second excuse: " I'm afraid to speak English"

  Very, very common excuse as well, but as the saying goes: "If you don't use it, you lose it!" . This saying says the essential in a few  words, It's obvious if you don't speak what you learnt, you with no doubt will lost everything of a sudden. So, put that in your mind: If you don't put in practice your  English basic grammar  knowledge, no English advanced skill will retrieve by miracle the basic one in your neurones.

# Third excuse: "Adults don't learn so good as children"

  Adults take advantage of children, as adults  know how they learn better English, know what want to learn in a way they can plan their study time. By the way, "accent" is not a main trouble if you are understood by other persons, let's see "accent" is a small detail which you can worry about it after you master English, you can in the long-run improve your English accent by practising it daily.

# Fourth excuse: " I have no time for English practice"

  With the arrival of the Internet that reason doesn't make sense of being said by someone. The Internet is full of podcasts, videos, texts, video-classes and all sorts of new learning devices imagined by English experts. The practicality of ways to learn is available for you anytime. So, take time for it get to work!

# Fifth excuse: " I need really to go abroad for learning English properly"

  Know there are foreigners wherever you are, just you search for them and you'll verify by yourself you don't need necessarily to travel abroad for learn your " language-goal". You can find them, maybe at  learning international communities in your city or next to it. Just exert oneself for that! In my particular view I prefer to chat on Web, Its funny, It's technology as I like very much the world of the Internet ; )
