  •    Thank u so much NotAClue  , ur words have really made me happy :) :) :)

  •     U are right  Evangeline  it is a struggle for little creatures to break them :)

  • Rosemary,

This is a perfect autumn picture, the only thing missing there is the squirrel :)

They look very special kind, just imagine how much struggle taking them out of the shells. Normally people don’t even think about it, we just buy them.

  • Ok:) But I wish pictures could convey the taste of food :)

  •    They are so delicious when they are green Roman  , I will take a picture of them to show u and other members here  , but at the beginning of spring when the almond season starts . Because  , what I have shown u here is some of the nuts I picked up from the tree branches  , which belongs to last year season  :)

  • Thank you for explanation, Rosemary! :)

I wish I will taste it one day! Green and brown! :)

  •      @Roman @Onee :) thanks for seeing my photo.  The hard shell is broken by a hammer or a small stone in order to get to the nuts . They are even eatable when they are green . I will show u there picture,  I think many people haven't eaten green almonds they are so savoury  :)

  • Hi Rosemary!:) Wow! They look different from those almonds in Google pictures... I guess you need to remove the skin or shell before eating them.

I would like to see them hanging on a branch of the plant, that they grow on it.

What else interesting fruits, nuts or vegetables do you have near your home?

    Thank you for sharing!

  • Dear Rosemary,

Can you eat that directly? :) I never see them picked from its tree. :D

    Btw, very nice shot! ^_^
