Dear Friends, I have set a new rule for Skypers Group that says "You must be a member of MyEC to Join us on Skype!" SKYPERS Group is always on top of the list of uncle Google when people search for an English Partner or Group. That's why I receive a lot of requests! Yes, it can be so frustrating. Will you keep helping greet/welcome newbies even though they've failed to respond?
Read more…When you welcome newbies, you'll probably offer something to them. Then, what could be a good offer? I'll offer to help them to learn/improve their English by telling them what they can do on this site, showing them some useful links, such as Tara's page, encouraging/helping them to write their own blogs or adding/leaving comments on other members' blogs, and so on.
Read more…"Newbie" is slang for someone who is new (not experienced) at something or someone who is new to a group. Anjana suggested we create a list of links that are useful for newbies. That way, when we welcome new members we can direct them to this page. This was a great idea! I am new here also, but I try to do my share. Perhaps an easier method that would allow us to utilize
e-mail vs the steps required right now…. As a feedback: The site is still new for me, not yet feel comfortable with the navigating due to it overabundant content that is not yet managed intelligently enough to enable new users to get incremental use of the site content.
This is not only an educated opinion but a professional observation applied to my personal experience.
So if you wish to increase response by members to welcome newcomers, a better site content management is needed. Technical decision makers are welcome to contact me, I am happy to help.

There are about 17 pages of newcomers not welcomed. I covered three approximately 3 pages. Unfortunately I cannot do the rest today, so when ever your on line please do not forget to cover how many you are able to , preferably with useful links.

I'm happy about this group. I can have more friends with welcoming new members. I joined to My English Club to get help on English for my students who live in a rural aria.
