I was a huge old-rock music lover when I was a teenager. There were still the years of the CD's kingdom, but I loved old rock music and the vinyl format, so I used to visit old and second hand record fairs or old record stores everytime I could (if I had some money, haha)I took this picture to show different record formats that we don't use anymore except for remembering old good times...So, there you can see CD's, Vinyls, an EP, tapes... and also a video tape! Anybody here remember any of those? :DThanks again to Onee-chan for this cool Photo Challenge http://www.myenglishclub.com/photo/photo-challenge-old-stuff-payphone?context=user

  • Onee, you used tapes as 'toys'? How cute but... what a weird 'toy'! XD

Estanis, nah! I wish they had been 'crazy times' as you said, but I'm/was more 'quiet' and shy than what I might look ;)

"no one played guitar like Mark Knopfler"?? Oh, no way! Lemme disagree there! Mark Knopfler is good, yeah... but he's nothing compared with Jimi Hendrix or Jimmy Page, the real Electric Guitar's Gods! :P

  • Hey that's cool Mary! I bet you had a lively and crazy teen ages :)

btw, I were more of Dire Sraits... no one played the guitar like Mark Knopfler so far ;)

  • MARY Conseula Bananahammock,

No, not giving up. :D Video tape? :| I'm not sure. I know cassette tape. And actually. There is still one cassette tape player at my parents' house. I forget how many times I took the tape out of the cassette and make it as toy. LOL....

  • MARY! :-!

I will be burned alive by blushing of shame, if I will post those stories :D

And also I don't have a tape player anymore, and I don't even know where I can find it.

Luci's group... Hmm, I still don't know how it works... making the blogs from the random 3 words of each participants... hmmm Or maybe I just guessed with vocaroo links. Yes, it might work!

    Thank you! :)

Omg, I also have experienced that entangling of tapes... :D

  • Hey Roman! You tell me that and you expect me not to demand to read any of these nonsense stories!? :P

I think there must be more than one discussion or blog here playing a similar game... it's like a classic. But I've never heard that tape recorder version. Maybe you should suggest that game in Luci's group ;) (and you'd make Luci very happy making her group alive again... the poor one always has to scold ppl there to keep them active)

Onee! I thought you alread gave up writing that 'nickname' XD
These 'big CD's' are vinyls, and you play them with a vinyl player (obviosly haha) like this one:

2644073366?profile=originalYou neither knew what is a video tape? uhg... I feel old now :(

Robbie! Nice to see you around and to read that you know who is Weird Al Yankovic haha... That vinyl is an EP (is smaller 'cause EP's just have one or two songs each side)

"Have you experienced your tapes' film get entangled in your cassette player?" -- Oh, yes :(

    KILL YOUR FEAR OF TALKING!
This group is for all people who don´t feel comfortable with their spoken English and want to practise it by recording themselves. Lately here on MY…
  • How nice you have Weird Al Yankovic LP in vinyl! The Vinyls are making a comeback. Unfortunately, my cassette tapes were damaged by the typhoon. I had to discard them. Have you experienced your tapes' film get entangled in your cassette player?

  • MARY Conseula Bananahammock,

Wowww!! :D Tell me something.....How did that big plate of CDs play? on/in what kind of player? Or maybe I just know not much. :D And, that big cassette tape. I imagine a big tape. :D
I just know the names of these stuffs. EP? Vinyl?

This looks so cool to share the all those kinds of music and video players that now we rarely (anybody still use it?) or don't use that anymore. Great history of technology invention. :))

So many thanks for your participation. Really love it! ^_^

  • Hi MARY!

    I remember all of them.

Also I want to tell you one funny thing that we used to do with tape recorder, with my friends long time ago.

We were gathering together in my room with a tape recorder and one (in most cases empty) tape.

Then everyone, except one, was going outside room and closing the ears by hands. In that time one of us, who was inside room, was recording just three words (in most cases with any sense or sequence, not just 3 nouns in a row). After that he was going out and next in sequence was repeating that action.

So in the end we were rewinding the tape to the start and listening to the story that we created in that way. It was really funny for me and I still have some of those stories.

    Thank you for sharing!
