The Day I Met You

On the day I met you,
There was full of stars in the sky,
And the stars were gazing at us.
The moon was smiling at us.

On that day you said to me
"You are a part of my life,
And I can't resist living without you
The world without you is worthless for me".

On that day we walked together,
And we swore to be together
Till the last breath,
And the kiss was so sweet.

But now, everything was changed,
You are away from me,
And you left me alone; however,
I still have a mind for you,
I will never forget the day
When I met you.

Forever

When you shed a tear,
A piece of soft tissue is me to wrap the tears.

When you need to reach the top,
I'm a stair to raise you up.

When you walk in the April sun,
I'm the umbrella and the slippers for you.

When you are in the darkness,
I'm a firefly to show the light.

When you feel sad in your life,
I'm beside you all right.

When you get into trouble anytime,
I'm ready to give you my hand anyway.

Wherever you are in this universe,
Please do remember
It's me near you forever.

Once there lived a poor fisherman with his wife and his mother-in-law in a small village. The fisherman was about 40 year old, and he had no children. He loved his wife so much. Therefore she was not allowed to go out to work. Every day he went to the creek near the village fish.

One evening in winter, he said to his wife, “Dear, now I’m going fishing, and maybe I’ll be late; however, don’t worry about me.”

“OK, dear. Take care please!” said his wife.

Then, carrying fishing net on his shoulder, he left home to catch fish. On getting to the creek where he was used to fishing, he put down the fishing net. He looked around and then he took his clothes off. He put the clothes on a branch of a tree on the bank of the creek. After that, he went into the creek that was not very deep, for the tide was not rising at that time.

He started fishing, but it was not easy to catch a fish. A few moments later, he luckily got a big fish, and felt so happy, after which he immediately went back home. As soon as he arrived home, he stood in front of his house happily and loudly calling his wife.

“Hi, darling! I got a big fish today. Please bring a knife, a big plate and a cooker to cut up the fish,” said he.

His wife was in the kitchen cooking, but she happily stopped and brought her husband everything he had asked for. When she saw him carrying the fish and standing in front of the house, she was so surprised. She smiled at and laughed at him, and then quickly returned to the kitchen without giving him what he asked for.

The man got very angry with his wife, so he said to his mother-in-law, “I’ve caught a big fish today. Please bring a knife, a big plate, and a cooker. Before taking a bath, I want to cut the fish up. Your daughter didn’t give me what I asked for. She even laughed at me; I can’t understand her today.”

His mother-in-law brought all the things, and came out to the front of the house. When she saw her son-in-law who was standing in front of the house, she was so surprised and laughed at him. After that, she went into the house bringing the things with her.

At that time, he was so angry with both of them. He went into the house angrily.  He got what he needed to cut up the fish; he started cutting the fish up. At that time, a cat came near him, and the cat was looking at him, crying ‘Meow! Meow! Meow!’.  He thought that she wanted to eat a piece of fish. Hence, he shared a piece of fish to her. But she did not take it, and continued meowing. He again gave little more fish. However, she went on looking at him and meowing.

The man was so angry that he could not control his mind. At once, he stood up to kill the cat with knife, and he tried to gird his dayo[1]. At that time, he found himself wearing nothing, and he realized why his wife and mother-in-law smiled at and laughed at him, and the cat meowed. He felt so ashamed of his mistake that he left home and quickly ran to the creek to take the dayo that he, before going into the creek for fishing, left on the branch of the tree.

Only I Know My Disease

Ven. Eindobhasa

04-12-2014

Once upon a time, there was a man in a village. The village was very far from the city. The transportation was very difficult to go to the city.

One day, the man went to the city for his business by boat. He felt so tired and so hungry that he could not resist having some foods, because he had rowed the boat for many hours.

So he, as soon as having arrived in the city, went into a shop very quickly to buy some food to eat. Then he started to look for some food, and he saw many soft soaps in different colours.

But he did not know that they were soaps; he thought that they were a kind of food. Because he was very hungry, he just asked the price without inquiring about what they were. He picked one up, and he started to eat it at once. After eating it a little, he realized that it was not a snack food. Yet, he was continually eating it not to be ashamed of his mistake.

A man nearby him saw him eating the soap, and the man thought to himself, “This man doesn’t know whether it’s a soft soap or a snack. Where is he from?”

Then the man said to him, “Dear friend, it’s a soft soap, and don’t eat it.”

At that time, the man suddenly replied, “Yes, I know, my friend. Only I know my disease, and it can be cured by having soft soap.”

And then he gave money for the soap, and left the shop quickly.

Skills and Attitudes That Are Necessary For a Successful Life

 By Ven.Eindobhasa

What is the most important for a successful life is ‘Learning’. It is absolutely true; ‘Learning’ is a very basic foundation and most important for a successful life. Some people can ask when we will get the end of ‘Learning’. Anyhow, we must keep on ‘Learning’ at the end of our lives. The person who wants to be successful continuously in his/ her life always needs to be ‘Life Long Learning’. The main essence of ‘Learning’ is that ‘Learning is never stop’.

For example, we have studied for ten years, after which we stop ‘Learning’ for a next year, then our learning will be shown in minus. Hence, we must try not to be minus of our development and success in our lives, and the only one not to be our ability, development and success in minus is ‘ to be continuous learning’ day by day. Yet, it is not said that ‘Learning’ means ‘only studying at schools, colleges and universities’. Generally, there are two kinds of learning – Formal Learning and Informal Learning. What is formal learning is included all classes of studying at kindergartens, middles schools, high schools, colleges and universities systematically due to the curriculum.  ‘Informal Learning’ means learning from one’s own experience, from reading books, and from seeing and hearing of what is useful for a successful life. For example, reading a book is taking a lesson of life informally, and watching television is also learning how to cook curries informally owing to their teaching of cooking.

In reality, we find that informal learning in our lives is more important than formal learning to be a successful life. Why? Indeed, formal learning that was trained us at schools is the lessons of life to continuous informal learning for day by day life. On the other hand, we can say it (formal learning) is the very first step of learning practical way. We can see how important the informal learning is – Mr. Bill Gates has not graduated, however, he is the greatest inventor of computer, and he is also one of the richest ones in the world. Why is that he studied ‘Informal Learning’ up to the end of his life.

As the first step, we besides ‘Formal Learning’ and ‘Informal Learning’ for a successful life, who wish to be successful ones in life must be willing to success at first. What were, are and will be happening in the world are based on the wishes. As second step, we after wish of success may believe ourselves that we can be successful ones. If we don’t believe in ourselves, no one believes us. After believing ourselves as the ones being able to be successful ones, as the third step, we must have a plan to do to success. There is a famous proverb concerning plan – “ Fail to plan is plan to fail.” We, therefore, who want to success in life must have a plan at least, how to do to become successful ones. Having more plan is better. The last step is the most important; that is to implement the plan in the practical way. Many people can reach this step, but some of whom trying for a little while miss success in the reach of the hand.

On the road to success, everyone when making plan practically may face the difficulties more or less. The more we can cross the difficulties, the more we can stand up on the top step of success. In this way, we must keep on march of success slowly and slowly and step by step.  The most important thing marching to success is ‘to get up seven times when failing eight times’. It is not sadness for us getting in trouble when we are trying to hold what we want in life. Not dreaming for a successful life is really sadness, and we no need to feel sorrow over un-success when we try to get to our aim, but it is really sorrowful for us if not dare to have a big dream and strong wishes.

Hence, the big dream and strong wishes is a very first step for a successful life.

To My Dear…

To My Dear…

The traditional drum from Arakan
My Dear, please come and play (it)
The flower of Royal Orchid, “Tha Zong Pang”
We are the ones, the wealthy of wearing it, My Dear.

The ‘New York’ you call me to come
Not being able to come together with you
Our ancient heritages; the artistic stone carving
Ought to belong to us.

‘IT’ age and abroad
I understand what you said to me
However, My Dear…
At the Land under the Arakan Roma
Because of my growing up
As long as Arakan Roma not being ruined
As long as the flower of Royal Orchid not being extinct
For the welfare of our nationality
Witness with my heart-blood
Water in the Kissapanadi River will tell, My Dear.

Despite of being worm due to loving the earth
We are the worms all
From the Land of Arakan, Oh! My Dear.

The Royal Worthy Flower

In the uncertain way of my life,
Having a chance to meet her hazily,
With honesty and pure heart,
She who I was familiar with….

A pair of iris being the most beautiful and the brightest,
The eye brow drooping as the bow,
She who is with a honest and openly heart….

As if a flower with pleasant smell,
And with the full of beauty,
Being proud among the flowers,
She who can make everyone to gaze at….

With fragrance and gentleness,
As if the Royal Orchid, the Royal Worthy Flower,
Her beauty is more than others…..

As if a fragrance rose- bud,
A pair of her red lip,
As if the beauty of (white) pearls,
The lovely teeth looking good,
All these are…
The real beauty of the nature,
None can argue...
