When and where I read this book : I read this book in 2011 after I watched Dorian gray ( 2009 film ). I was in a book store and looking for an interesting English book . I saw " The picture of Dorian Gray " , I thought that it was be easy for me to understand the story because I already watched the film . " The picture of Dorian Gray " which I read was not the original from Oscar Wilde but retold by Jill Nevile . The version I read was for the English learners . The book was the stage 3 .

Summary : Dorian Gray was a young man . He moved to London and lived there . In London , Basil considered Dorian Gray as his dearest friend and he was the great artist . Basil painted the portrait of Dorian Gray with love .When Dorian Gray saw the painting of his own face, he fell in love with his own beauty .The evil power made nothing could touch, hurt or change his beauty .

Dorain Gray acted in an evil way after he fell in love with his beauty . He lived an evil life . He did many bad things to people who were in love with him and his beauty . He killed a pretty village girl who fell in love with him and he killed his artist . Time could do nothing for his beautiful face . He cut the link between his face and his heart , his outside and his inside. His face did not change , it stayed young and beautiful . But the picture which was painted with love told the true story. It showed the real Dorian Gray who was growing old and ugly and full of hate .

Finally , the evil power could remain longer. He realized that his beauty
destroyed his soul . He picked a mirror and stared at his face , suddenly he hated his own beauty and dropped the mirror on the floor where it broke into many small pieces. He put a small piece of broken mirror in his heart . Dorian was old and ugly , but now the picture showed wonderful youth beauty as his dearest friend painted it .
