Writing Challenge: Mr. and Ms. EC Q and A

What do you think is the best section in EC that has made your English learning improved? Why?

The answer to this question depends on the learner’s purpose, interest and level of English. I joined EC in order to improve my English especially speaking skill. At first, I didn’t know much about all sections, and just visited forum section. I read discussions and comments and enjoyed. It was interesting to me.

Then I decided to start a discussion, after I started my first discussion, some EC members replied to me immediately and encouraged me to put more discussions.

Forum section is more helpful for beginners, because they are not good at paragraph writing and it’s easier for them to put a discussion than posting a blog, but every learner that likes to improve in English, s/he must write more, for this purpose, blog section is the best.

    A beginner that cannot write blogs, it is better to start with forum.

    Dear Mohammad,

    I have not experience of voice and video chat here, just text chat. At first, I thought that chat is the best for speaking, but later I found out, blog writing is more helpful, because during chat, I used short and incorrect sentences, but for writing blogs, I had enough time to check words from a dictionary to correct my mistakes.

    Yes, we both start our learning in forum, and I remember we made friends with each other in this section :)

    Dear Saba, you are right in forum a good discussion can be quite useful. I also like to practice my speaking but unfortunately Ec doesn't have a special section for that, anyway speaking with yourself could be useful too.:D

    Indeed, you're right, saba. It depends on the learner’s purpose, and I realize that blog section is a bit difficult for a beginner who even can hardly use simple present tense well.

    Perhaps it is because in past, here had the facilities of voice and video chat yes ?
