clubhouse

This month, let's build the house of our dreams. Since we are all part of an English Club, we'll make it a clubhouse. We will describe it together in the comment section.

For this challenge I need writers to do the building, landscaping, painting, home decorating, and even renovating. Each time you visit the blog, imagine that you have just spent time at the clubhouse. Answer this question: What did you do at the building site today?

Here are some things you can do:
  • build a new room
  • plant a garden
  • add lighting
  • bring in furniture
  • add appliances
  • decorate and paint
  • put in new floors
  • add accessories
Here is some useful "house vocabulary" for the challenge:Rooms in a houseFurniture and decorAppliancesOkay, I'll begin...---------------------------------------------------------Today, I built the framework for the clubhouse. It has a basement, a main floor, and an upstairs. There are many staircases, but I'm not sure how many rooms there will be. The house is on a mountain overlooking the Pacific Ocean. There is a large open field behind the house. I have ordered 20 large bookcases, which will arrive tomorrow.----------------------------------------------------------What did you do at the building site today?

  • Alba,
Good point. A fresh coat of paint makes all the difference. I vote for a sunny yellow. Not too bright.
What should we cook on the BBQ? Perhaps we should grow some corn. I love BBQ corn with lime and chili peppers.

    BILA Awa Yah,
Thanks for joining the challenge! I love your sentence about the "ballet of colored butterflies". Great stuff.
  • I think that it is very wonderful if our clubhouse has a baconly with a beautyful view of the park and has a lot of widowns. It makes our clubhouse comfortable and spacious.
  • Well, I'll put in new flowers! that's a great idea to create a nice environment, by the way, I would like to plant a lot of fruit trees, and have a nice garden in the backyard.
  • Hmm...good point. We should probably have a first-aid kit handy, too. Surely there are a few nurses among all of these members!
  • Naima. I like flower pots too. Mine always blow over in the wind though. We'll need gigantic ones to withstand the wind near the Pacific Ocean. Many of you have shared your love of trees here. It's great to be in the company of nature lovers. Looks like this clubhouse is just about ready. Do we need any finishing touches?
  • what about planting alot cf trees and filling balconies with flower pots.
i also like our sitting room to overlook a patio full of sun flowers.
see you soon in our lovely garden
  • I 've had bought a piece of land near seaside in Penang Island , Malaysia. Althought it was expensive, but i love it because it's far from Penang Town. I'm going to built just a small house with three bedroom, two shower room, dining hall and a cute kitchen. This house will become a home stay for my family, relatives and friends. We can enjoy weekends by swimming, playing and food at beautiful beach and senery.
  • Good point! I never thought about the outside colour of the house. I love yellow houses, but I guess this is a group decision. Do we want brick, wood, or aluminum siding? My one request is for a red door. :)
  • What a great idea, Takki Eddine! I've never heard of a fennec! It's so cute. I'll bring a Canada Goose.
  • Fariba, this is great! I can't wait for Iranian dance night. I've been waiting for someone to bring in animals. I'd also like a giant aquarium set up like the coral reef with tropical fish of all colours, shapes, and sizes. I envision this clubhouse with really high ceilings. Yes, it is starting to look like a palace, rather than a clubhouse. That's the great things about dreams.
