Did you ever wonder why someone failed to leave a comment on your blog? If your answer is yes, you're not alone.

The majority of us here would enjoy the comments left by other members on our blogs. Sometimes you may have hoped to know a certain person's opinion about what you just wrote - you even thought the person was supposed to add a comment on it. You just kept waiting, but failed to see any comments by that person. Then you may have asked yourself, 'How could he/she have failed to leave a comment on my blog?'

Below are some reasons why someone failed to leave a comment on your blog:

--They may have missed your blog.

--They noticed your blog, but failed to read it.

--They did read it, but somehow failed to leave or add a comment.

--They may have thought they were not so sure about what you wrote.

--They may not have been interested in what you were talking about.

--They may have thought you were already an active member and didn't need to be encouraged by a comment.

--They may have decided not to comment on every blog.

What could be other reasons someone failed to comment on your blog? Would that bother you? Or you just don't care, right?

P.S. You can use 'they' instead of 'he/she' - 'their' instead of 'his/her'.  But some people don't think the usage is correct.

  • Hi noona,

Thank you for making time to leave a nice comment here.

  • Hi kara,

Thanks for the comment. Don't be shy about leaving a comment on what you just read - your comment'd be appreciated.

  • Hi Camel,

You really have a point there. Yes, just keep blogging - comments are just a bonus.

    Thanks.

  • Hi Shoba,

Thanks for sharing your sentiment on this. Yes, sometimes we just don't feel like leaving a comment on what we just read.

You could have clicked on the 'Like' instead if you really enjoyed reading it but failed to leave a comment.

  • Dear Expector,

I agree it is encouraging for the blogger when we leave comments on their posts. But sometimes I get stuck for ideas and don't know what I should say about the topic they have written.

It could be pretty boring for both the readers and me if I am going to say the same thing such as "nicely written", "good job" or "I love it".

That is the main reason why I don't leave comments on other's blogs more often.

  • Hi Tantan,

Great. You really have a point there. Yes, it's no fun reading something too hard or lengthy. Thanks.

  • Hi expector smith, thank you for share, i have found almost all the reason point, but i have another point,  as an english learner sometimes i just read one or some line, if the blog has many difficult words, it will reduce my mood to read it hehehe, otherwise, if the content is easy to read and understand, may be i will read it several times :D

  • Hi Afro,

Yes, it takes time and effort to read and leave a comment on a blog. So, I, too, take my hat off to those who have tried to add a comment on the blogs.

    Thanks!

  • Getting a comment means a lot to me. But, yes, sometimes it is too hard to have time to do so. Like, recently I have no time to write  or read here.Tough want to read and comment. But I have to admit, I am not so good, I mean generous like others who usually put comments on others blogs, they are really good people. Hats off for them!

  • @Mishaikh

Yes, a comment can be so encouraging. I wish I could leave a comment on every blog here. Thanks.

    @Icha

Great. I agree with you. It seems to be a good idea to help each other by commenting on each other's blog. Hope you can try to find time to help encourage others by leaving a comment on their blog. Thanks.
