I know that the ground on the moon is being sold. An American company sells it for thirty dollars per the area of a soccer filed. More than six million people in the world have already bought them, and the total sales so far is more than eleven million dollars. The founder of the company says that he wondered who owned the ground on the moon and searched for laws about that. He noticed that an international treaty prohibits countries from owning the ground on the moon, but he thought individual people weren't prohibited to own it. Then, another international treaty prohibits not only countries but also individual people from owning it. But almost countries had not ratified it yet, so he thought it wasn't a problem for people to own it. However I think it will be a big problem if the day comes when we can go to the moon easily.
By the way, I wonder why people buy the ground of the moon, even though they can't go there. They may be satisfied with the dream of living on the moon. Do you want to buy the ground of the moon for thirty dollers per the area of soccer ground?

I always ask myself, who owns parts of the earth...or, as you say, parts of the moon or space, in general.
No man, no government, no religion ever has created one of them.
People say "That's our country, our forest, our...our...our...". People fight about this topic again and again.
In my understanding and opinion, no one owns the earth and other planets. Also, they don't own any tiny part of it. No one owns the land, the air, the oceans, the mountains. Nobody owns anything of nature or cosmos. If someone says he/she is the owner...then we have to ask them who has given him her/his "property"? I mean from the beginning of our existence at all.
We have only borrowed the right to live here and to use the offers as a gift...as gift of the duration of life.
But people do as if they are the owner. That's wrong. We, humans, are the user, not the owner.
So, no one has the right to sell or to buy anything.

The real moon? The one that circles around of real earth, which circles around real sun? I have heard, that story about a company selling it too.. I would never buy from them, because I don't recognize their ownership, nor right of selling it.
It's just simply "who has the power, takes it." thing. If martians, reach there first and build stronghold there. Then all those earthlings foolish lavs are probably worth, less than nothing.
If I owned it and could live there. I would paint something offensive on it's earth side. I would really need a lot of paint, I guess. So, before buying some estates there, from Martians. I should start buying paint already now. I'm sure everyone would be so pissed off, when I paint it.. especially lovers, who like to watch it. And wolves and other such... They would try to come and get me... and force me to clean the moon, to return it as it was.. But I would welcome them with laser guns that I buy from Martians and shoot them all down.. ha-ha-ha-haa! But I don't know where that down is where I shoot them in that case.. it's not to the surface of my moon, for sure.. Maybe they will fall back to earth? :D
