Hi, my friends! I want to tell you about the events in Kiev on March 22-23. First of all, I have to say that Kiev climate is quite moderate and mild. In the middle of March we usually take off our winter clothes. But this year we have an opportunity to celebrate New Year again now. Our journalists made a film called "Today" or "February 52" ( I hope you remember the film "The day after tomorrow'). Can you imagine that 40 mln tones of snow fell down on my city during 24 hours? And nothing was done to save people who found themselves absolutely helpless in front of such natural element. Thousands of people had to spend the night outdoods because they couldn't get home. Our city administartion didn't take care of clining roads or doing something for citizens not to freeze. Regular people united in organizations helping others to survive. And I have to say that Kiev is the capital of one of the biggest European countries!!! If I lived in another county, I would say there would be one more revolution. But not here, there were too many! And they all resulted in blood only! How long will people suffer of government that doesn't care of its nation? And this country is going to join EU!!!!! Look at this:

Dear friends! Thanks for your comments! I think, that snowstorm was only the beginning of great disaster. Today most of groceries are almost out of foodstuffs because they can't be delivered. I live near the big grocery. So, when I have managed to get there today, I couldn't buy either meat or sausage or, at least, frankfurters or anything else I usually eat. People who have children are in true panic: there hasn't been milk or any other dairy products for 5 days!
Besides, according to the weather forecast, it will get warm in a few days. Can you imagine those tremendous snowdrifts melting?
Well, my next purchases will obviously be a dog team with a sledge (for the next year) and a boat as a car seems to be out of need nowdays!
If my nation didn't have great sense of humor, it would have died out long ago!
I was a witness of this weather event as well. And what is much curious several days before it in forecast was the caution about such precipitations and strong wind over, perhaps, half of country. Nevertheless, our government was not prepared and during firs 24 hours they have been doing nothing. And even on second day clean vehicles were almost not seen. It's ridiculous and sad!

The covernment probably wasn't prepared too?
I think, that Joining EU probably means nothing in this context. The EU probably won't care too. :P Only this much as how much it affects it's economy.
