Heart or mind

Sometimes, the mad people have far more sense than the logical people. This truth was shown rather clearly during one of competitions at the Seattle Olympics; there were nine mentally disabled contestants. All of them stood on the start line for racing hundred meters running. The race began by a shouting of pistol. The participants set out, but one of them could not jog, he stumbled and fell down then started crying on the track. The eight participants heard his crying and looked back at him. They stopped running and returned to him.
Mongolian girl sat beside him, and hugged him
“Do you feel better now ?” She asked.
“Yes dear” He answered .
Then they helped him stand up, and started running again.
They all arrived to the end line at the same time. There was no hero, but all the nine mentally disabled contestants were heroes. They did not strive for heroism. They only wanted to participate and help each other.
The mass of fans cheered and Clapped longer for those heroes .Those were mentally sick, but they had healthy hearts .Their hearts were clear and clean from envy, proud, and hatred.
How many of us can honestly say that we wish if we could do as they did?
I think that the most important thing in life is, how to help others to succeed and win, even if this means that we have to slow down our desire as far as possible and look back and change the direction of our race or even lose something to win another. Sometimes we have to follow our hearts rather than minds
It is a simple story, but we need to think over what they did, it may help us change ourselves and listen to inner calls of our hearts.

  • Hafida , thank you for reading my blog.It is so nice to meet you here.

  • Minds always rules over our hearts .Because we are created to think ..

In theory it is easy to imagine being one of those characters but when the situation comes to real life then when you are being put in the test to get either failure or pass.

Hope every receives a pass and gets through further in life competition.

Many thanks Galina . I feel so happy to see your nice comment .

  • Hala ,so some people lose the mind and get caught up in the heart. Others forget about the heart and become wrapped up in the mind. Neither way is good. But sometime we need to listen to our hearts rather than mind .because ,heart refers to childhood ,when we were pure , innocent of any sin ... .
Thank you Hala for sharing me your nice comment .Really, your wise thoughts enrich me a lot .

  • when i'm reading your blog , i wished if all the people in this word were Mongolians.

thank you for the nice story

  • Tawfeeq, one more great story! Thanks for posting such touching and meaningful blogs! While reading it, I asked myself if I could act the same way like these disabled contestants. And I understand I can't give a definite answer. I should be involved into the situation, then my heart would tell me what to do. What would you do, Tawfeeq? But I completely agree with you that sometimes mentally disabled people have more sence than people with logic. Sometimes they show us how we should behave in this or that situation. But we ordinary people with logic don't understand their behaviour and think they're insane and we're right. Unfortunately, I think most of the people of nowadays won't act the same way. But, in fact it's a good example for us how to live.....

  •  “You'll never find peace of mind until you listen to your heart.” .I think these words express the deep meaning of your story which reflects how the power of emotions can win the most  valuable prize in our life which is the peace of the mind.

There's no explanations to everything in our life ...no analysis to many actions and reactions happen around us ,we keep asking ourselves what should we do, but I think what we have to do is to follow our hearts and hope we make the right decision.

It's the continuous conflict between the heart and the mind inside everyone ,when we have an important step in our own way we stop and think many times ,but at last the decision will be made by what we feel and not always what we think ...love ,emotions ,kindness ,tenderness ...all these feelings come from our hearts and  describe our humanity and lift our souls .

The blog is wonderful ,dear Tawfeeq ,you always share us so touching and realistic stories with your own special way of writing .Thanks a lot and wish you all the best !
