  • Yes I guess it's linden. I'm really not aware how most of trees are called in english. Dictionary usually gives a bunch of them for each tree. :P

  • It's not monster nor handsome. It's just a big mossy tree. Tilia trees are often mossy. at least those species that grows big. Their blossoms are used to make tea for cold. I think they contain aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid) or have at least same effect against cold. Old times Tilia's bark was used also to make ropes... Well I don't know much more to tell about it... Just that this certain tree is growing in my older brothers yard. There's actually a lot of them. When I was kid I liked to climb to some of them. The biggest Tilia tree in our yard was really big I think it might have been the biggest Tilia tree in World. It was maybe something 6 or more meters thick around the stem. But that's not so big anymore, the storm broke it's 3 big branches and now only one fourth branch is left... but it's still nice. :)
