Reasons for Being.

Have you ever wondered why do we have to see the beauty around us? Have you ever realized why we have to appreciate the presence of someone beside us? Have you ever realized why do we want to feel that we are counted? Have you ever thought of the true meaning for why we cry when we get hurt? Have you ever felt so weak that you found yourself sincerely grieving for a lost friend or a loved one? Have you ever pondered why we are always in search for some things we really don't even know what? Do we really care?
Do we really love?

Are the things and insights we see and feel not enough to give us the true meaning of happiness?
Are these not enough for us to learn how to live in harmony?
Are these not enough to make us understand that we are all here living as human beings?
Is it not time to admit that we really need one another?
Is it not time to show that we sincerely care for each one?

Now may I ask, have you ever asked yourself why?

A Glimpse On The Inside

A quick look of Tagaytay City in the Philippines

Tagaytay City is a tourist spot located in the province of Cavite in Philippines. Tagaytay overlook the taal Volcano in Batangas. The Volcano can be seen in the middle of the lake from several areas from the city. Located relatively close is the capital city of Manila; only 55 km away passing through the Aguinaldo Highway.

The total land area of Tagaytay is 66.1 /sq. km which is 4.37% of the total area of the Province of Batangas. Tagaytay is covered by hills and mountains which is mostly forests and open grasslands.

The weather and temperature of tagaytay is characterized by somewhat low temperature, low humidity and abundant rainfall. The city is cooler during the months of December, January, and February. Like most areas of Cavite, Tagaytay only has two seasons, the dry season ranging from November to April, and the wet season during the rest of the year.

During the Philippine revolution, the forests of Tagaytay were used as sanctuaries for revolutionaries, including the people from the nearby provinces.

On February 3, 1945 the 11th Airborne Division of Lt. Gen. Robert L. Eichelberger's 8th Army performed a combat jump of the 511th Parachute Infantry Regiment and associated elements on the ridge, with a drop zone around the Manila Hotel Annex, which had been cleared of Japanese forces by Filipino soldiers of the 4th, 41st, 42nd, 43rd, 45th and 46th Infantry Division of the Philippine Commonwealth Army,  4th Infantry Regiment of the Philippine Constabulary and recognized querillas. To honor this event, a marker was installed in 1951 at the junction of Silang, Canlubang-Nasugbu roads by the city officials in coordination with the National Historical Institute of the Philippines.

The city of Tagaytay remains to be a main tourist attraction for local and foreign visitors seeking rest from the humidity in the lowlands with several tour guides providing food and accomodations, some including the scenic view of the Taal Lake and Volcano. This view will certainly attract more tourists to the area.

Is this true?

It is sad to think that there are still people who act and think like animals even if they are educated they act uneducated. They have no heart. They turn their backs on their true responsiblity. They mess people's lives. They do nothing but make people hopeless; destroy good relations; avoid right reasons and good judgement.

How is that possible?

How is it possible that a young mind's way of thinking cannot be influenced by its environment? If we are all youth and exposed in an environment where we need to protect ourselves the brave ones will develop  a defense other youth cannot normally do. If we are all youth and thrown in a den of mentally ill  people we will develop in us a brain function similar to the people around us.

We should always bear in mind that we were not born knowing and understanding the various situations around us so an adult  should not look at the situations of the youth as if he or she (the adult) was born knowing everything.

The young ones or young minds still need proper guidance,. Their brain is more like a sponge that just absorbs everything that they see and hear without understanding most of them, so they should not be expected to understand the mentality of  grown ups. Guide them to do good. They could be knocking so loud, we just have to listen.

Impression.

MyEC could have been a very good site for learners. A site where both the native English speakers and English learners could learn. A site soon becoming or already a pool of knowledge for both the teachers and the learners but, because of the varying degrees of opinion what started as a useful site could one day topple down. Indeed very frustrating to think in this manner I guess.

I have seen good members of this club come and go. They were open of their views as to what they have realized but no one listened to them, instead they were ignored. Here I have realized how easy it is for others to alter their identity. (I should have known this before hand. ^_^). It's funny in the later time but provocative if you are short tempered. And, very stressful if you would take things seriously. So, full control of oneself is very important. One good dedicated teacher here is Salim. I admire his will but I also think it's his real self acting here.

MyEC on my own point of view is a pool of unidentified people with varying opinion who possess different belief and culture. The diversification of each one's opinion leads this club to function in many different ways. And I am so thankful to the teachers here who showed their real selves. I understand how exhausting it is to be in different places at one time. I think everybody has contributed a lot of time and effort to make MyEC functional. This is a place where, when you're used to, one could expressed his/her idea in a very useful way but of course with a few inconvenience every now and then which is very common even in our daily lives. Our faculties will be tested in many different ways. All of these activities I am very sure are the combined effort of all the members (teachers and learners alike) here. How one perceive the club would still depend on each individual. This is just my own evaluation of MyEC.

Lastly, I wish to add, that the outside world is a lot different than being here but I know there are also a lot to learn in this small world.

More power!

My English Club As I See It.

I have been a member of Mr. Josef's site for a little over 3 years and have one main aim as to why I joined English Club, it's mainly to improve and practice my English. I have enrolled in English schools too and have fused the actual knowledge I learned in school and Mr. Josef's site. I then applied what I learned here and in my daily life.

Aside from improving my English, I gained confidence in using the language. The overall effect on me is incredible. I got favourable remark in schools where I actually enrolled. And have at the back of my mind why didn't I get a 100% rating ... ^_^ ... (just joking!) Honestly, I really have seen how English Club helped me in improving my English and I am so happy of its outcome.

I find Mr. Josef's site like a small world where we, all from different countries with different culture contribute a little to improve our English. Alongside learning the language we also learn the culture of different countries which is of great help to all. This in turn promote extensive understanding of the people around us in relation to the culture and values they practice. English Club for me has became a bringer of culture in different parts of the world. Though I do not personally know Mr. Josef or any of the members here, it's really an amazing and unbelievable experience that by merely practicing my English here I gained wisdom as well. It's really so sad for me that not everyone see the club in this way. Maybe our differences as an individual should not be set aside. We really have differences in some ways.

We study and learn to improve our intellect by bringing forth a better person in us.

Good day to all.

Quotation.

"Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us every day." -Sally Kock-

Sometimes I wonder if it is necessary for others to know what and how we helped others. Because sometimes I can feel that I have to justify all my actions even if it's just a little act of kindness. Honestly, I always feel shy to say the kindness I have done for others and the reason for this is something I myself cannot understand why. I'm really very sorry if I don't know why I'm shy, maybe because it's just very small...
I think if we will just open our mind's eye there are a lot of good things we can do for others. We just have to be sensitive a little to know what goodness we can do, and as I have read in one book, sensitivity is... "the art of the small".

I wonder if others do feel the same way too. -Lynne-

Difference!

Do you know the difference between the sky and the heavens, between heaven and earth, between the air that we breath and the air that we feel, between right and wrong, between bright and dark, between happy and sad, between each other, between men and women, between an excellent idea and a devastating one?The attributes which give contrasting directions are just like dissimilar notes in a song!Couldn't we just submerge our differences and gather the wonderful thoughts you and I can make together?-Lynne-

A Time In My Life.

There were a lot of occasions where we were exposed in situations that needed us to make a decision in a flash. Here is a situation I can share with you when I lend a helping hand to take care of my cousin's youngest child (at that time) who was just about 1 year old.I took her with me to visit one place one day. It was a little tiring for me because I have to carry my niece most of the time. I thought, she was just quite small to let her walk so I just carried her on our whole journey. On the way home, inside a public vehicle I thought of passing by my house first before I dropped her to their home. When we got off from a public vehicle, I crossed the street carrying her on my left arm. But, unfortunately as soon as I crossed over on the other side of the road with my baby niece, I was hit by a speedy vehicle on my right arm. On the road, I fell on my knees and felt that I had to fall on my back because of the unbearable pain I felt on my body but, I didn't let the shock rule my mind because I had my baby niece on my arm so at a slow pace I tried to stand up still carrying my baby niece until someone assisted me with my niece still on my arm in crossing the street. I brought her with me in our (parents) house then checked if something was wrong with my niece. I thanked God that she was fine. I then realized that if only my niece didn't cry at the time of the incident, I could had been unconciously lying down on the road. Shortly after that, I brought her back to my cousin's house and explained what happened. I apologized for what had happened and at night I went to see a doctor for an aching and swelling shoulder.Up until now, this has been an unforgettable episode in my life.by: LynneNovember, 2010.

A Cover Up.

There are people who pretend as friends but actually are trying to get information about you. Be ready to see that character out and one day realize that you don't own yourself anymore. Two events took place in that situation; a cover up and an over-riding. ^_^

This happened in actual not here in the internet. Could you please give me your opinion on this?

The Language of Flowers.

Not so long ago, flowers were used to send messages for someone. A kind of language widely practiced by many to express their sincerest feeling for some situations that were thought by some people to be a little awkward when expressed in words but, rather more romantic by using the language of flowers.
I find the concept quite interesting and thought of sharing this with you. I hope you'd be entertained as you browse through the list below.

Food for the Soul.

The Little Girl and the Tooth Fairy.

Sometimes, we find ourselves exhausted with the phase of life we are facing outside. From time to time we seek freedom from all the hardship we face day by day. We hardly smile and always find ourselves on a constant struggle because of the never ending hapless events in our lives. Because of this ill-fated chain of misfortunes, we then forget a lot of things in our lives... the small things that had made us happy and kept us good and safe when we were small children. These are the little lessons we learned from our parents, teachers and friends. Here, I want to share with you a short story shown on slides below that holds a lesson from childhood up to the time one reach the pinnacle of success.

P.S. I'm sorry if it doesn't show on some places. ^_^

Friendship

"One does not make friends. One recognizes them."
(Garth Henrichs)
These days, people find it difficult to trust, it's really not easy to know who your friends are. People are just too busy to nurture friendships and some just pretend to be too busy. Everyone seems to be wary of one another. And I think this is just how it is.Anyway, each friend that I have has a distinct worth to me. I don't easily make friends but I do have them. I love and cherish in my heart the memories of being with them. Though even in some instances, I feel isolated with them, this still does not bother me at all. I continue to consider them my friends. I'm open to the fact, that everyone has their own character, me included. And I know that a lot of self control and proper respect are needed to coexist with others... in this way we get to learn more about dealing with each other in a civilized way. I'm just no different from them. I mean, I am human too. So, we are all the same in some ways.Sometimes, I really wish that I could be with all of my friends all the time. But, this is impossible really because the turn of events in our lives often gets in the way.I am a person who doesn't care so much about who you are or what you are, where you belong or how you used to be... maybe this is the real me. And as time goes by, some of my opinions of friends must undergo some changes because of the continually reshaping environment. But honestly I will tell you, I always realize my friends' significance the most, once they are no longer by my side. I really miss everyone of them...and this does not exclude my childhood friends. For this reason, I love my friends!Written by: -Lynne-First Posted: 09/29/2009
