Critics attack realism because it shows the follies of man and societies. In addition, it works like a mirror for us to see our follies and the follies of others. In life people hate those who criticise them, thus they avoid realist writers and their depiction of both individuals and society. Critics also attack realism because it portrays the miseries of man in this life and the main causes of them. One must not forget the censorship department and how it fights the realist writers by confiscating their rights of writing or by preventing their books to be puplished. Sometimes they put realist writers in jail without trial or release them if they pay a big fine. Thus, we see many great realist writers go to exile, or they stay without writing, or they will write either nonesense or symbolic writing that looks like magic rituals. In free countries, writers are free to write in any mode of writng, but in non-democratic countries they consider the realist writer as the enemy of people or the enemy of the state. Therefore, we see such countries full of fatal follies and without reforms of such fatal follies they will never develop. In my opinion, I see realism as a great mode of writing that reflects the truth cleaerly without any painting, and if we see the truth we can reform ourselves and our societies.
