Hi dear friends.

We have an idiom which says : "When you are given a horse as a gift, do not count its teeth!" It means that the fact that you were on someone's mind so that he/she presented a gift for you matters, not the amount, price or quality of the thing they give you. If you are given a scarf do not nag about its color or design, just be thankful to the friend who gave it to you.

I do agree with the statements above, but there was something interesting to me and made me sort of curious.

It is very nice to give and receive gifts to/from your virtual friends, esp when it costs them something. I mean you must be a very important friend or target (!) if someone pays to give an online gift to you as a virtual friend.

The free gifts you can attach here in MyEC space are not too many or versatile. But, it is a good way of showing friendship and respect to one another. If there were free flowers, that would be nicer.

There are some other gifts you can give to friends here in EC, but it may cost you some money. I barely see members give such gift, so I was curious to see if you all ever received or gave such gifts? What was the reason ?

I hope that this topic isn't ridiculous! I am just curious!

:)

Oh "free gifts", my fav ones :P

I like to attach pictures on some people's wall; I dunno if you can consider that as a "gift" here, but I find it better than these nonsense ribbons haha...

And internet gave us one of the best things in the human being history: Funny pictures and memes of cats! How can we resist to send cute pictures of cats as 'gift'?!! :P

Who was given a gift or gave a gift to friends here? Anyone ever paid for a gift?

  • No, I'm not pay any credit yet. I mean ; I use "free gift" and send it to my friend. But I received one cake form Teacher Josef...and you know what.....hahaha...nothing happen. I cannot eat that cake (because It's a virtual cake) . It's the same "a ribbon", ...just different style.

Now...no need to be curious more....:)

  • I also haven't bought any... I think those gifts here, may be different from usual gifts. Since the thing you buy with your credits here, don't seems to have much value.. It's just a picture that you can see in that gifts store free..

But buying that gift, is probably like donating money to developers who developed this web page.(Not sure about it though) So it would be like presenting a piece of web page to your friend maybe.. Like helping the web page getting better. So you give a gift for web site developers and they may then be happy and make website better? Or it's so they already made the website and now you show gratitude?

But, there's that but.. I don't trust people, especially IT people. I won't give my money to some developer. The computer programmers are the last people whom I want give my money.

At least here, In Estonia IT people already earn too well, and they suck with their work.. So the IT people won't get my support, they can only get my complaining, critic, yelling, offensives.. and so on. ^_^

Well, I actually already wasted those credits I had given at start.. Hopefully they don't ask me to bay for it.. Or maybe they already took the gift back that I gave away, that time. lol :P
