Music could be in our daily habit. We can hear it on the radio, on TV, and in other places. It's even within us! I bet you would try to hum while doing chores.

There are hundreds of types of music. The common types are inside the wordle above. You can choose a type of music, and share your thoughts about it.

I would prefer Pop music because it perks up my day. Listening to upbeat songs could help get rid of stress and bad moods.

  What about you? I bet you're a music lover too. : )

  • Dear Robbie, Its a lovely topic to discuss. I wake up with  good Gospel music and, I listen to some melodies in my language  before sleep. I remember reading a quote 'Music washes away from the soul the dust of every day life'

  • Thank you for sharing what type of music you're into, Burn! Everyone has its own preference about music. I agree with you, when we listen to our preferred genre, it enhances our mood thus making us active and enthusiastic. It gets the job easily done and relaxes our brain as well.

  • Nice topic Robbie,

I hope you will not hate me when you know that I'm strongly prefer and love listening to Extreme Metal Music. From symphonic metal to thrash metal including all type of sub-genres of Heavy Metal. I sometimes spent my time wrote in my blog on blogspot.com; sharing my thought, experiences or knowledge about the musicians, songs etc related to the Metal genres. Listening to that type of music gave me experienced a range of emotions. And also a way for me to calm down myself, to express my feeling but don't worry, I just enjoy listening to the music not to follow the philosophy. For me, listening to extreme music were just as relaxed as those who were sitting in silence. Sometimes I used to listening to that noise and heavy music to help me fall asleep. The conclusion is I chose these type of music only for positive self-regulatory purpose.

    Warm regards.

    • Hmmm....That's unusual. Why do you hate music so much, Suhaib? : (

  • The music is a universal language that binds all of us with a single cord. The willingness for music styles could be varied from one to another depending on various factors. In my country, especially, the youngsters have a unique affinity towards the modern music styles such as pop music, disco music, hip hop styles, jazz, rap and so forth. In my case, I love listening to traditional music styles at large, but the Caribbean music styles such as ragga is also in my heart. The back ground music of the Titanic song -‘’My heart will go on’’ sung by Celine Dion is one of my most wanted! Further, the music of the ‘’Earth song” sung by Michel Jackson couldn’t ignored simply! When I am at home, I listen to both regularly! The indigenous people living in my country, by historians, the aboriginals in Australia have a far distant link to this community, have an untamed nice music styles unique to them. Most of them are very much closer to the rhythm of nature. I have a recorded piece of this music, and the softness of this music make me pleased when I am tired a bit!

    • Hi again, Bimal!

You're definitely right, youngsters and young adult mostly love pop or disco music. But we can also relate to the music according to our childhood. Which I think if you have a good memories with it, they bring smile and calmness everytime you hear them. As in your case, soft music eases tiredness.

About the "Earth Song", yes it's one of my favorite Michael Jackson's songs. The video and the entire concept speak about how human disregarded nature. It's a very powerful song with a clear message to all of us.

Thank you once again for sharing your thoughts. I'm pleased to see your worthy comments on this topic. : )

      Take care,

      Robbie
