Writing without Grammar is like eating without salt. When my students write without paying attention to Grammar I feel that their English is broken. Not only that, but I feel that in their writing there is no meaning. Learning Grammar is very easy and there are several ways to get it. First, when we read any thing written in good and correct English we must pay attention to the seantences and see how they are written. Second, try to imitate the writer and write down one or two pages with your own hand. Third, try to practice writing a paragraph or two and give it to someone to correct them.
The second way to learn Grammar is to read in the books of Grammar. For example, when we were students we studied in different books, but I found the most useful was Living English Structure, by W. Stannard Allen. This book is good and simple. In addition, it is full of rules, explanations of those rules, and excercises to practice the rules.
The third way is the most important and dangerous. Please do not imitate those who write or speak broken English. If you do that it will become a habit and you will suffer alot to get rid of it.
Number four is good luck with your exams.

I totally agree with you that grammar is a must in terms of writing. In order to write intelligently, you need to have a rich vocabulary as well. Perhaps it's when synonym comes into a picture.

Most of the participants are involved in this practice, being ignorant towards the basic things.
The purpose to write comments should not be mere amusement or entertainment, we should take care with all the writings, discussions, blogs, replies considering it as a writing exercise to improve upon the weaknesses.

I agree with you that learning grammar is an essential step while learning a new language because grammar is the backbone of every language. When writing something, we should try to avoid any grammatical mistakes because it can easily ruin the real meaning of our writings. And for that we should learn grammar with great enthusiasm and hard work.
Learning a language without learning the grammar is like "to erect a building without placing a foundation stone first".
P.S. I hope that you'd share some more interesting ways to improve English grammar with us. I'm trying to improve my English for quite some time but I know that that I still need a lot of improvement especially in areas of grammar and vocabulary. So I'm impatiently waiting for some great tips so I can improve it in shortest possible time.
