Change on English Club

English Club is a wonderful site for learner like me to practise English. Is there any doubt? Of course not! In it what do you want to see a change?1) To me I want to see notification on my page just like we have it on Facebook when someone like my blog, discussion, photo, and video as the like is not notified.2) Whoever tag my name on the comment box or in blogs or in discussion may also be notified featured on my page. There are many changes we need on EC to make this site better place for learners as well as teachers to polish their skills free of cost.If you agree to my suggestions, please don't forget to cast your vote for them or add your own suggestions, please.

Sir Jeff, with all sincerity and humility, please let me answer this comment of yours not to raise any red flag but to clarify some things that as a minority of this site, like me as a member or me alone, I don’t want to second Arif in his campaign to have a like notification, it’s just I think there are some people who build some confidence out of that, like me for example, those good comments really encouraged me to write more even though I know it’s not as sensible compared to other bloggers, there’s a cheerful spirit that “like” could bring. Of course, that “dislike” may invite some negative feeling. It’s nature.

About the vague comment, I know for a fact I belong to those members, because I have noticed that to your replies to mine, but I diverted all those terse words from you to encourage me as well, I’m seeing those as constructive, that helps me to make myself clear.

Anyway, I have nothing against you, but not all people here are well-versed, learning English for a non-native speaker is not an overnight process.

Btw, the more you write here, the more I gain from you.

Sorry Arif, I have no intention to ruin your discussion. By all means, you could suggest...Good luck!

    Just Learner,

    Just a couple of questions...

Firstly, why do you need to "see notification" that someone likes your participation here? What about notification that someone doesn't like your participation here? Why is it so important to you that members like what you have to say? If you truly believed in your ideas that you express here, it shouldn't be a problem if members disagree. It makes me think you have an ego problem.

Secondly, you say there are many changes needed to make this site better. Well, tell us what many changes are needed! I get really pissed off with members here making vague comments that lead to misunderstandings. Be specific! You've got a brain - here's your chance to use it.

Finally, your last comment sums up your thinking: you want to hear only from those who agree with you.

  • Hello Jeffrey,

I have no ample to answer your all queries. If disagree to my suggestions, skip them and let us know your owns suggestions. So simple!

However, in reply to your questions, it would be enough to say that liking blogs, discussion, etc infuses spirit in writer and vice versa. Second without knowing viewpoints of others via whatever means their liking or commenting, an improvements in relevant skill is not possible. Third, by knowing notifications we can come to know who want to be in touch with us. Maybe this doesn't sound strong answer from your viewpoints, but they are.

    Thank for raising queries here.
