I've just bought a book on English grammar to celebrate World Book Day

I enjoy reading books on English grammar and have bought scores of such books. I even thought I had enough and the bookstore seemed no longer attractive - I used to be a regular visitor there.

The fact that I've got enough grammar books, however, doesn't mean I don't need to learn more grammar. I know there's still confusion, or rather, I know there's still something I don't really know about the grammar.

I just finished reading the book and learned a lot - the book has helped clarify some of the confusion. Now I feel more confident in my ability to write something in English.

So, you might be just one more book away from feeling so good. Always try to read one more book - don't give up!

Good luck!

  • Hi setareh,

Yes, grammar may be the answer to the problems learners face when they are learning English. Native English speakers may not think so, though.

    Thanks.

  • Dear Expector, when we start learning a language, grammer seems like barriers that do not let us speak as fast as we want. Then as we get better and learn more vocabulary we find out that now we need grammer to make our sentences organised and beautiful.
  • Hi Onee,

I'm glad you bought some books for World Book Day. In fact, there's the fear that people will lose interest in books. That's why we need the Day to remind us to read books.

I'll try to come up with another blog challenge. Thanks a lot!

  • Dear Expector,

I also have bought some books yesterday after a long time I din't visit bookstore, maybe it's because of the World Book Day. :) That's good to have a new grammar book. I will buy later. :)

I will try to join the challenge if it's about grammar. :) Happy Sunday, doc!

  • @Afro

I hope you'll find it useful.

    @MARY

I enjoy reading grammar books. Usually I can learn something new in a newly-bought book. The build-up of grammar is necessary if you really want to know the ropes. Thanks.

  • Expector, I admire people who is able to read Grammar Books from cover to cover... I couldn't be able to even read the preface :D

Anyway, I'm glad you celebrated the World Book Day! :)

  • Okay I will try to get this book. Thanks.
  • Thanks Seeker!

  • Hi Mishaikh,

Here's the name of the book: AN A-Z OF ENGLISH GRAMMAR AND USAGE (by Geoffrey Leech).

I'm not sure if it's available in your city, though. Good luck!

  • When the question is about grammar, I am still at primary.

Expector, please let the member to the name of the book, publisher and reference on the web for the benefit of those who are interest to learn more and more.

    Thanks
