Writing Challenge: Reflexive Pronouns

It was a beautiful evening. I finished my project, finally. I did it all by myself. Now it was my time to enjoy. Initially, I decided to throw a party for myself only. But later I changed my mind and called a very close friend to come and join me. When she arrived at my apartment, we made coffee for ourselves. Afterwards, she said that she would cook a very tasty dinner for us herself. Meanwhile, I decided to watch the TV. As I sit sat on the sofa, my cat climbed the sofa and made itself comfortable in my lap. A satirical comedy show was on air and participants were cracking jokes against themselves. A little while later, my cute little friend, who lives in my neighborhood, came with a drawing book in his hand. He asked me to draw a picture of a running horse, but I asked him to do it himself first. He became angry and left my apartment at once. I felt bad and decided to go to his house, once the party was over.

What do you think about the story above? Is it real or just a piece of fiction? And hey, why don't you participate in Teacher Tara's challenge yourself?

Thank you so much for passing by. Oh boy, I'm one of the laziest members of MyEC and you are calling me Rawalpindi Express! And yes, you're right that I love English a lot but am still waiting for English to love me back. I wish it would happen very soon. :D

  • @Tara Benwell,

Thank you so much for your encouragement, Dear Teacher Tara. I'm much obliged.

Thank a billion for spotting my mistake. In fact, writing "sit" instead of "sat" is a blunder, not a mistake.

As I sit on the sofa, my cat climbed the sofa and made itself comfortable in my lap."

    Correction:

As I sit sat on the sofa, my cat climbed the sofa and made itself comfortable in my lap."

Thanks again for taking your time to read my blog and to correct my mistake. So kind of you, dear teacher.

  • @Anele,

You can't imagine, bes, how happy I'm to see you here. Thank you so much for reading my blog and for leaving a comment, although you were very sick at that moment.

Are you sure that you weren't there with me, Anele??? And I did crave for a tasty dinner. In fact, I always do. You have no idea how much I love tasty food.

Hehehe..... It's clearly mentioned in my blog that my close friend was a "she". May be you couldn't concentrate on that because of the severe headache you had at that moment. Do I sound satirical here? :D

Well, I can't spank my little friend. He's so cute.

Why possess that kind of attitude at an early age?

Actually, it's not his fault. He just tries to imitate me. :D

I left other reflexive pronouns in black to differentiate them from intensive pronouns which are in the red font.

I think you should participate in this month's challenge. We learners can learn a lot from your writings, you know.

Thank you so much, dearest best friend, for taking your time for dropping past my blog despite being so ill. I'm grateful.

  • @Sahar
