Writing Challenge: Mr. and Ms. EC Q and A

What do you think is the best section on EC that has made your English learning improved? Why?

My answer:

One day I was surfing the net to find a place which I can chat with people in English. The idea of talking to people all around the word with my broken English fascinated me a lot that all I wanted was to speak. Then I came across this site; first I was not familiar with here and since I just liked to speak I went to the chat room and my journey here began. To be honest mostly women were not interested in talking to me or better to say to females and some of men would like to talk to a single girl not a married woman with two kids.:D So I got disappointed because it was not the way I had dreamed of.

Then one day I talked to a guy from Pakistan he was a very nice person; I told him that how much I liked learning English. He told me to go to the blog section and read them. He also encouraged me to write. Oh! Writing!? I have never written anything especially in English, besides I didn’t like to write that much. My desire was to speak English without pause. Anyway I started reading the blogs and later on I wrote my first post. I got so many nice comments on my post; it was so awesome. I will never forget it. Now I had the courage to leave my comment on blogs and I really enjoyed reading blogs too.

Sometimes when I read some wonderful posts by dear Tara, Expector, Lady Anne, Mishaikh, Alice, Lucie, Lady Noor, Seeker, Vision, Ratu, Robbie, Inna, Saba, Traveler, Adeline, Lady Elf  and so many others and some who although didn’t send a lot of posts but each of their comments was a post :D like dear Mohammad and Evangelina; I would say oh my God! Their writings are great. How can I post my writings here? But gradually I found more courage to write and post them. Now here I am.

So if I were to choose the best section on EC that would be blogs section. It helped me a lot with my English especially my writing. I also got to know some great people and I am so happy to be here. I know that I still make a lot of mistakes but the important point is that with reading and writing I am trying to enhance my English and more importantly I enjoy it.

So my special thanks to EC and my great friends on blog section. I hope we can make this section the best place to share and discuss our ideas in a friendly atmosphere.

  • Dear Mohammad, I personally love colors especially blue, so your comments especially when they are written in color make me happy.:D Thanks for stopping by.

  • Dear Seeker, thanks for your comment.

Dear Noaslpls, the blog section is just great and I think here people write about their favourite subjects or share their opinions or feelings about something, so somehow we get to know them through their writings. It's awesome. Maybe we can learn how  to enhance the tolerance of our ambiguity. For me reading others point of views is so interesting. Thanks for your nice comment.

  • Dear Setareh

Nice blog. Please next time say about the colorfulness of my comments as well.  :D

    Thanks for sharing

  • Dear Setareh, how I wish I've met you in a chat room :) I'm sure you have a lot of things to talk about with more mature subjects because sometimes I found the chat room was full of childish squabbles.

However, at the same time I also like to think because of the unpleasant situation that you had faced in the chat room, we are graced with your wonderful presence in this blog section. So, a lost for the chat room, but a gain for blog section. :) :)

  • Dear Onee, I am sure it would be different with you. I talked to so many great people but there are also few people that the only thing we can do is to ignore them. Thanks for your nice comment.

  • Dear Halima, you are right. For listening part Ted Talks are my favorite; I always listen to them. Thanks for your comment.
  • Dear Setareh,

Do not get disappointed dear.. Who's the one wasn't interested to talk with you? It would be a different story if it was me. :)) Btw, my first time chatting on private here was not a good one. He only wanted to fl**t me. Another time I had met another same one, and more. I didn't know why, but no girls also greeted me. :D. Then, same like you I started to like blogging..... And chatting sometimes with ones that I know from blogging.

From the early I knew you, you are a blogger. You always joined almost all the challenges and commented on many blogs. I noticed it while saying..."wow!" She is a mother, but an active blogger. Amazing! :)))

  • hi ear i totally agree with u reading and writing blogs is a very effecient way to enhance our language. Also, videos are very important to get information and pronunciation at the same time. good luck.

  • Dear Anne, we are so lucky to have you here. Thanks a lot for all you are doing for us. I will keep your last sentence in my mind to inspire me. I wish you all the best
  • It seems that the blog section is really the favorite of EC's budding writers.  Really, nice to see your answer because if I was asked the same question my answer would be the same as yours.

When you wrote that you got nice comments from your blog, that was indeed a very awesome feeling.  I know that those encouraging words from our friends in EC had awakened that desire in you to become a blogger.  Well, that's the beauty of this section.  Not only you are enjoying interacting with the members but you can also practise your English a lot.  As what you have written, commenting and blogging are two wonderful activities in EC where you can generously practise.

Look at you now, a very very good blogger.  What an accomplishment!
