According to the great blogger, Seth Godin,

"If you're going to work....."

We have to work efficiently. Most companies are strict when it comes to employee's performance on work. We have to compensate money and benefits that the company provides to us, in return for our labor. As we all know, our work is our "bread and butter".

As I see it, if we work efficiently, there would be a chance for growth and promotion. Your boss or the company would see you as a model employee to others. Indeed, he or she would think of you as a profitable person. And could open a lot of opportunities in your career.

What if your boss caught you checking your on-line status on facebook rather than writing the correspondence that he asked you to do? For sure, he'll give you a memo or this could be a ground for suspension, or worst a termination. Wasting your time doing activities not related to your duties and responsibilities in expense of company's resources would make you a lousy employee.

Think of it this way. If we work efficiently, we could reap rewards not only for career growth but for personal and emotional success too.

"In the same amount of time you can expend twice the effort and get far more in exchange."    Seth Godin.

  • Hello Fernando,
Thank you very much for your comment. I agree with you, if we always do our best, it would bring self-confidence and self-worth in our attitude. I hope you'll have a pleasant week!
  • Hello Rabab,

How's my new friend? Thank you very much in commenting on my blog. Actually this was my first time to join in a writing challenge, but it was good to know that I learned something. If I would compare this blog to what I've written before, I can say that this blog is more interesting because I learned about proper paraphrasing.

Hope you'll achieve all your goals here in MyEC. Take care!

  • Woow you did a great job Robert. Not just in paraphrasing you also explained it in a nice way by giving examples.

    Thanks very much for sharing.

Please take have a look at my blog I have participated in this challenge too.

It's not as well written as yours, though ;)

    Thanks in advance.

  • Thank you MyEC for featuring this blog!
  • Hi Expector,

Thank you for your comment here. I appreciate it. Regarding the link of the original blog, I forgot to include it on my blog. Teacher Tara had put and suggested the hyperlink on her response here. Anyway, I included here the link too, so that readers could easily compare the two blogs...

  • Hi Martin,
Thank you for taking your time in reading this blog. I appreciate it....
  • Dear Tara,

Wow! Thanks for your compliment and for citing an example of paraphrasing. I had an ecstatic feeling after writing this blog. I never thought that I could write a good example like this one. MyEC really helped me a lot....

  • Dear Nafis,
Thank you for commenting on my blog. I actually like to paraphrase because it is challenging. Though I need to improve more in terms of vocabulary and sentence structure, I think this is one of the best ways to be creative. Why? Because you could actually use different terms that you've read or learned from reading books or magazines. I hope you had a great time my friend....
  • Good writing! I wonder If you could share the link to the original blog for readers to easily check it out!
  • ohhhhh! Dear Tara, thanks a million times for the explanation.
