What are serious problems in your country?

A declining birth rate and a growing proportion of elderly people is the one of the most serious problems in Japan. The Japanese people who were born around year 1948 is called "baby-boom generation" and their numbers are many. And now they are getting older and the Japanese government has used taxpayers' money for their social security costs like pension credits and the costs will continue to increase in the future.

On the other hand, the birth rate in Japanese is declining, and now it's 1.43. The Health, Labour and Welfare Ministry in Japan calculated that populations in Japan would decrease from about 120 million to about 100 million in the year 2050. Population decreases cause stagnation of the economy because of a decline in both consumption and labor. The Japanese government is trying to solve this problem, but there is no solution in sight.

  • in Kazakhstan - #1 problem is Corruption, it is root of all other problems (economical, social, political, goverment, private business, etc)

  • In my opinion, the main problem in my country is occupation and marriage. These two are connected to each other; if young people couldn't fine a job, they won't afford marriage and its expenses.  so if this problem get solved the rate of marriage will increase and therefore we will have more birth rate, but if there is no job so there is less marriage and in turn less kids. As you see every thing in society is connected.

  • To nechel. Japan don't implement one child policy. China implemented it for a long time but now they also don't implement it. Corruption was a big problem in my country abut 30 years ago but now they were ameliorated before because Japanese people and media criticized them heavily.

  • Thanks for your info, tam. I hope Japan could solve the problem.

  • The decreasing population is really a problem. We will find difficulties in developing country without many youngsters. Otherwise, an excessive population is not good for health. It should be a balance of population growth. Here, not only government should solve the problem, but people should realize and think the same so it will find success.

Well, in my country there are many serious problems at the moment. One of them is obviously about the regulation that government allows one person to burn 2 hectares of forest. And now you could hear the news about the smoke of burning, even every year. Does it really something? I, myself feel so ashamed about it. I hope they hear the petition to stop it and so the subject.

  • To Sophi(a)sticated. Japanese government entertain immigrant but as you said it has both negative and positive effects.
