What an embarrassing day

When I was ten years old, I was playing football with my friends. While playing, I kicked the ball and it broke my neighbor's window. Before long my neighbor came down and angrily asked us who threw the ball on her window?Nobody answered her. I had to tell her that I broke her window by accident. She took my hand and we arrived at my home to tell my parents. She told everything to my parents. My parents paid for her window and they punished me not to play footbaal for a week.I felt very bad this day.

  • Oi there,

Lol, Thunder, ur episode with the window is nothing new or uncommon, we, kids, have the bad luck to kick the ball into all sorts of trouble.

I'll take the liberty to rewrite your witty short story as an example, which I hope will come in handy for other chatter when they have to write something similar.

One day, when I was a kid of 10, I was playing ball with my friends and when I kicked the ball, it hit the neighbour's window and smashed it to pieces. It wasn't long before the neighbour came down and asked angrily who had smashed her window with the ball. [ you are describing some past event in your own words, so there is no need to use the words said by the angry neighbour] As nobody wanted to take the blame, I felt obliged to confess that I did it. Hearing this, the neighbour took me by the hand and led me to my parents who paid for the damage and as a punishment, forbade me to play ball for a week. I needn't say that I felt very bad about the whole affair.

  • Nice story. your story reminds me about my younger brother.

  • Hi Thunder, you may consider this as correction...

When I was ten years old, I was playing football with my friends. While playing, I kicked the ball and it broke my neighbor's window. Thereafter/not long after, my neighbor came down and asked us angrily, "Who has thrown the ball to my window?" Nobody answered her. I had to tell her that I broke her window by accident. She took my hand and brought me home. She told everything to my parents. My parents paid compensation for her broken window and they punished me not to play football for a week. I felt very bad that day.

What a responsible you are! At age of ten, good boy! Thanks for sharing. :)

  • Nasilsin Thunder! Problem yok arkadism.  Kazaidi benim arkadas. It was just an accident Thunder, never worry about it.

  • It happens daily in my area. In our apartment kids play cricket in the parking area, and damage cars parked their by their stylish cricket.  People avoid (sometime) to stop them to avoid a row between the parents.

This is because of the lack of play ground in the city, those were available, now grabbed by the constructors to build high buildings there.  What a pity!

  • I did that too when I was a little boy,now that memories makes me happy as I remain it ...how kids..
  • I'm very happy to read your comment Adaline. My english teacher wanted to write me a short story about my embarrassing day. If you realize my some mistake tell me please.

    Take care.
