Warning: Something's Not Right Here!

Attention please!

✗✗✗✗✗

Sorry to say, but this scanning system is failed, because some sites those were not blacklisted few days back are blacklisted now, and those are not blacklisted, can be blacklisted tomorrow. So, please avoid using any scrap sites.

(Sorry, this didn't come in my mind b4 posting this blog.)

✗✗✗✗✗

Are you afraid from the title of this blog.:P  What you said... No? Okay, go through it... you will be... :)

Note: Every browser displays the warning bit differently. Very frustrating to us, but not difficult to recognize.

☠ ☠ ☠ ☠ ☠

Now, what doesn't the above picture means ? That's nothing, but your browser's screenshot when you come to open some blacklisted sites.

Read the message there, you will take it seriously: Attack pages try to install programs that steal private information, use your computer to attack others, or damage your system.

Okay, now, if you haven't come through this ever, you might think what's the importance of this for me. Then know one thing, you might come to this while visiting some graphics sites, which you visit to send greetings pictures to your friends. Okay, that's nothing and you can keep yourself safe by clicking "Get me out from here!" button simply. But, what if you come to this while visiting some of your MyEC friend's page ? Maybe you will say like this, won't it? If you see this warning message on your MyEC friend's page that means his/her page containing some data from such malicious sites.
Click this for an example, don't forget to read what our admin says about it. Okay, you may be lazy to check comments there so, here is it. :)
Dearest Tara, I have again a question (I'm just curious to know how admins do this). As you told there: "Also, if this ever happens again and you know the source, let me know right away so admin can delete the comment. You are all great detectives.:) Be careful which scraps you put on your pages. :) " So, Are any of you just going to take the risk and click the "Ignore this warning" button and find the containing resource and delete it ? :D OR simply disable that page ? By the way, does this disable means delete that member page or what ? :)

Lol...maybe some of you probably saying sitting there, so, why this boring blog? Don't worry guys now, the below  section is going to help you somehow. :P

How to know if the site is blacklisted?

Sucuri.net & Unmaskparasites.com are two sites I found, which scan the site and tell you if the site is blacklisted (containing some malicious things). Go to the site and put the link on the text box and hit the "Check" or "SCAN THIS SITE" button. Screenshot below:

How to know if the site is blacklisted or suspicious?

That's simple, you can see the message if it is or not. Below is screenshots, checked with a site: "www.picturesanimations.com"

Secure sites are like this:

Have question in mind so, why all this?

Just to keep safe (specially on MyEC) So, scan the graphic sites you use to send graphics to your friends or why not scan some sites and collect/bookmark the secure sites.

乂◕‿◕乂 I did this not because I care your security, but of course, love to see you safe on MyEC 乂◕‿◕乂

Note: Don't forget to share this with your friends 'coz maybe he/she can't come to know this and can post some graphics on your page from malicious containing site and you will be the victim. (I am not sure, how some members here can open these sites, maybe ignoring the message or not using a good antivirus).

  • Thanks for comments guys! Seems, we are aware of it now. :)

  • thank u very much for ur link it's very useful all

  • This is very important blog. Thanks for making us aware of this, Raj.. I, too use many scrap sites for greetings including (friends18.com)..:( And I'm sorry..I didn't know it is blacklisted, because I didn't get any warning or maybe I did but didn't see. But anyway, I'll try to avoid scraps in the future....and if ever I will use the most trusted one or not at all..:)

Thank you very much..Such informative blog.

    friends18.com
  • @ Tara

Thanks for the clear explanation 'bout malware. Do you think moderating comments on our own pages would help minimize from acquiring the said malware? : )

  • Hi Raj,

Thanks for sharing this informative blog post. It would be unfair to an EC member if his or her account be disabled just because of scraps or animations posted on his or her wall. Keep up the good work!

    Regards,

    Robbie

  • Dear Tara, thank you so much for your advice! I wish members will not prefer using graphics from other sites. Scanning the site if blacklisted or not is somehow safe, but when Google is coming to it they finding some sites containing malicious things so, it maybe the site is not blacklisted today can be tomorrow.

  • Thanks to everyone for coming to this blog! I hope we won't have this problem in future.

  • This seems the same, Sis.

  • Hi Rajesh, I have ever found this sight, before I thought that it wasn't a serious problem. I ignored,  just waited a few minutes to back on this site and all work as usual. Strange things happened when I move to MyEC photo gallery a few months ago.

  • I'm glad you posted this.  I tried some of the sites with scraps when I first came here but quit after I started getting warning messages that they had bad content.  It is too easy for bad people to upload something bad in a greeting and then people unknowingly copy it to the comments on their friends' pages.

Tara's idea is best.  Create your own pretty graphics if there is any doubt about the safety of those from outside sites.

Since we don't want My EnglishClub to be blacklisted by Google or other people, the administrators must disable pages with dangerous content before we get reported as a bad site. Each member should protect his/her own page and thereby protect My EnglishClub as a whole.
