There was a man who worked in an office. He often came to work late, though it was still in tolerant limit. He also went home hurriedly once the working hour ended, at the last second. But oftentimes, he would come back to office after an hour to work overtime.
Everyone in the office was wondering what was wrong with that person. They investigated him. One found that he went to the hospital in the morning, so did the other find in the evening, after work. They discussed about the 'proofs' they saw. They came to a conclusion that the man had a severe disease that he couldn't tell them. Finally, all people in the office collected their money for donation to help him.
The day came, he was called by the manager. He was surprised at what manager told him. "We know that you had a severe disease, so that this is the money from the company and this one is from all people here". The man smiled widely and touched his forehead on which no flies disturbed. Then, he took a deep breath, "Sir, I neither have any certain illness, nor any severe disease." "So, how come you went to the hospital every morning and evening?", asked the manager. Finally, the man couldn't ignore saying the truth. "Honestly, there is an old person that I want to help in his critical condition. He is in coma and needs help, but he has no family."

Most of us often tend to conclude information ourselves without asking people involved OR observing things in details OR for real. If we can hardly ask OR observe, why do we make conclusion?? The bottom line of this story is 'invalid information'.
What are your views about this?
Let's see another event: Ten people played a game. 8 of them were listening to music with headphones set on their ears. The first person told a short story to the second one. The second one should relate the story to the third one orally, and so on until the last person. The last person should tell the first person what was the story about. Do you think the story would be told precisely as the original one and in complete details?? This is another thing about information accuracy.

How was the result? :) That sounds fun. You're right that however people modify the message (must be/always be modified), the main message COULD be conveyed. There are lots of things to consider if we wish for serious information. It is about authenticity. We need what was written by the first person.

My teacher has introduced your second story as a game to us. She pick some students from the class she whispered a sentence in the ear of first student and ask her/him to pass in on to the second then second should pass it in to third and at last the last student should convey the same to the teacher. So the only motto was to teach us how information can be modified through the process of communication.

If one really wants to know information accurately, observation must be done thoroughly.
In the second story... If information told by a person to another one, another one to another person, and so on, the information will be inaccurate little by little. Information will be less and/or added. That is why it is important to ask the first person to get accurate info. I guess you will agree with me. However, yes, both are important. :)
