Seeker's writing challenge

After jack went to his room, his dad went to the library. He was still upset because of his son’s marks at science.  While he was looking at books he saw one of his favorite book “how to win friends and influence people” by Dale Carnegie. He loved this book. He read it few years ago. He took the book sat on the chair and started reading. While he was reading he came across this sentence “if you want to persuade someone to do something first you need to arouse in other person an eager want”. This sentence made him think. He noticed that the way he talked to his son was not right. He should not speak about his own dream and what he wants. He should have asked his son about his son’s dreams.  He knew how much his son was smart; he could be a good engineer if he wanted.

The next morning he greeted his son with a warm smile” good morning” he said. Jack was a little surprised. He expected to see his father with an irritated face. His father started speaking by saying: son I think you must follow your dream and do whatever makes you happy but you have to promise me to do your best at school because I know you are so smart. And one more point is that you should also do some research about engineering and painting before you choose them for your future career. It is so important because your life depends on it.

On his way school, Jack was so happy. He was so proud of his father. “I knew my father will respect my desire” he said to himself.  But he promised himself to make his father happy next time by having good results at school.

The next day Jack told his father “dad I would like to go to a painting gallery this afternoon.  Would you like to come with me? “Yes why not” his father replied.  They had a great time seeing all beautiful paintings. At the end he and his father went to the painter and talked to him about his job. The painter said that this is not his permanent job because he couldn’t make enough money to buy his painting stuff let alone make a living out of it. He continued that because he loves painting so much, he never stopped doing it. He said “I am doing it whenever I get free time”.  On the way back home father observed his son was silent and was thinking.  He said nothing and let his son think deeply about what he had heard because now he was able to understand his father better. It was not only about fulfilling his father’s dream; it was about all the best that his father always wants for him.
