railway transportation

yesterday, i went out of my town by train. this was my very first experience go somewhere by train. i was very afraid at the first time, because the train shaking me too much but then it's going to be a normal for me. i became familiar with the shaking.

in my town train is not a really familiar transportation. if somebody would like to go to somewhere the citizen  mostly choose to go by bus.  because train doesn't cross all over my province, just some part of my province.

i spent 6 hours on the train until i arrived on my destination. when i heard the bell was rang "ting tung, ting tung" and the train was moving, the official check the ticket.

the train stop at all the railway station. when the train stop many of  carry on shoulders come in to the railway coach and offer their merchant to all the passengers and make the railway coach like a traditional market. here, they have any kind of food that you want. so when we go with train we will never feel hungry because there are many food here.

railway transportation in my town is not a new one, the citizen used the train as transportation since 1920. in my province there are 7 railway stations and the central is in my town Medan. the railway station located in the central of the town. the railway station is one of the historical building in my town. the station near the old town of Medan where all the historical building still guarded.

this is my first experience and i feel really happy to go somewhere by railway transpotation, i hope someday i could experience another railway transportation on the other town or country.

When you come to Medan and then you can go to Siantar, Tanjung Balai or Rantau Perapat by train. You can try it when you come to Medan again.

  • Nice blog! Good writing!

Thanks for sharing your first train experience. It's so funny you described the train carriage as a market with all kinds of food. I can imagine what you tried to tell. They were trying to sell food to all the passengers. That's better than you couldn't get anything to eat with your money on the train. I hope to read your first airplane experience soon.

  • I really enjoyed learning about your first railway experience! I'll never forget taking my son on his first train. He was so excited. When we got to Toronto he wanted to hop back on the train and go home. We had to bribe him with ice cream!
