Polygamy?? OKAY!

STORY 1

Me: What do you think about polygamy? Are you willing if your future husband has another wife?

Friend: It's fine. I don't mind.

Me: Really?

Friend: There are only two conditions.

Me: What are they?

Friend: I must be the first wife.

Me: Okay. Then?

Friend: He must step over my corpse.

Me: D D

Fact in Islam --> Rasulullah (Sallallahualaihi wasallam) married again after 25 years of marriage and after his first wife dead. He really loved his first wife.

STORY 2

Husband: Darling, may I marry again? I want to do Sunnah Rasullullah (Sallallahualaihi wasallam).

Wife: Sure! You may, darling.

Husband: Really? Thank you so much, my dearest wife.

Wife: But it's me who will find you the wife.

Husband: I don't mind. It's fine.

Wife: I will find you two wives at once.

Husband: Oh, darling! You're truly the kindest wife in the world. When will you introduce them to me?

Wife: Tomorrow.

The next day.....they were knocking on the door. "Tok! Tok!" And, the wife introduce the candidate to her husband.

Wife: Darling, this is Mrs. Welwel, 65 years old.

Husband: My dear, how .....? eem....aa.....

Wife: Why, darling? What have you read so far? You don't know about women married by Rasulullah (Sallallahualaihi wasallam)?

The second candidate.

Wife: This is Mrs. Marmar, 71 years old.

Husband: Darliingg.....! Ee.......aa..... I cancel my intention of doing so. I will do another Sunnah Rasullullah.

Fact in Islam --> Rasulullah (Sallallahualaihi wasallam) married again when he was over 50 years old, and most of them are older than him. There were reasonable reasons on the next marriages.

Note: Sunnah (in Islam) means something that if a person does, one will get reward from Allah. If one doesn't do, one doesn't commit any sin at all.

Mubah (in Islam) means if one does or doesn't, they won't get any reward nor punishment. Sin after that is another matter. (basic Islam law for polygyny)

Thank you so much for reading my blog. )))))))

  • Onee, I really really really respect you and I didn't feel any intention from your side to spread this belief on your behalf. Knowing I could I have done the same with mine.

okay, Mary said again and again that "holy scriptures are unfair", not exactly like these words but sounds like this, I would like to say, is it really the scriptures are unfair or the person involved to that particular situation in such script. However, even if I say so, it will still remain a myth right, so better left that matter at the side.

Polygamy, who likes that? who would? I always believe in one is to one ratio, and according to God, that God that I believe in, that's the best relationship ever, only God in between the two people. It is a matter of Love, contentment, respect, and loyalty. It should always be inevitable. Any relationship is a failure without the following.

but geez, why is it so tempting...because psychological we always want more and we always look for reasons to have it whether it is sinful or not. Excuses. People use religion as an excuse, same with culture. That's why the greatest danger on earth is human.

Polygamy should be considered as a sin no matter what religion you are in, or even none at all.

  • Hello again, Mary.

I made this blog to show the Islamic culture on Polygyny.

You've crossed some lines by accusing my religion. However, I may respond in another post or comment, if I wish.

    Smile....

  • Hi bet,

Thank you for sharing your view.

  • It's pretty clear. Respect...

  • No doubt, Mishaikh. I accept it sincerely (ikhlas).

  • "None of the monotheistic religions have ever had fair conditions for women. EVER." How do you know? ~ Onee

How do I know?? Holys...! 'Cause I've eyes in my cute face and I live in this world!!

It's not only that i can see it today in my own society, but I also know pretty well the old scriptures and these 'fair laws' you mean of the 3 main monotheistic religions. Do you really want me to point out all the lines that say how the founders of these religions want to stone to death people like me?? Do you want me to show you all the many situations/parables in these 'holy' scriptures where a woman (and her sexuality) is used as a bargaining chip and how women are always the ones to 'blame' of everything??

Onee, I respect religious people, but I'm NEVER gonna respect their dogmas... How could I respect dogmas that say they want to kill me?! But obviously, i don't take it seriously 'cause I put these old scriptures in their 'context' and I read it as if i was reading mere mythology. But it worries me when someone take these 'holy' scriptures as the words of 'God' and the 'fairest laws'... Because in that case, I've also to take seriously these lines about killing people who talk against these supposed 'fairest laws'. So, for the good of everybody: let's not take it seriously.

  • Well, I have a question when many people here tried a lot to say one marry is good for men, then I think there are some people interested about more partners for women, strange when having more partner for men face criticism, I also do not like and I know how men manuipulate this then do you like more partners for women....

Here, mary is right in one point, women who are in polyandry system they are also controlled by their first husband to get marry more, in fact most probably women has no choice.

But, as far religious view of mine along with healthy life style one partner is the best.

  • Onee polyandry is strictly prohibited in Islam. Nikah over Nikah is Haram for a woman. It is even illegal by the law of Muslim Countries.
  • Mary,  you can say like this instead...

"None of the monotheistic religions have ever had fair conditions for women TO ME"

If, you know, billions woman feel unfair, they will leave the monotheistic religion. In fact, it happens otherwise.

  • Hi Mary,

Thanks. I'm full now. Ohh, I'm sorry, I was starving, so I misunderstood. ^^

    'bureucracy' .... LOL .... is this a word? D

It's really informative. Wow! Once again. 8)

Wait! You said "None of the monotheistic religions have ever had fair conditions for women. EVER." How do you know? :))) I will let you know...

I'm, a Muslim girl, only feel, that, the FAIREST LAW in the world, is, my religion, Islam. I'm, happy, with this, never doubt. ;)

So, your statement is completely wrong.

    Thank you for your reply.
