Dialogue between two friends.

Zara: Irene, did you see my laptop? Actually, I think I have taken it inside my bag before leaving home but now it is not here. You know, I am worrying, so can you help me to find it?

Irene: Sorry to hear, dear. I think, first you should make a phone call at home and ask your mom, and, anyway is it your  red colored Lapy?

Zara: Yes, yes, that red colored, have you seen it?

Irene: Yes, but, I saw it last week. Anyway, make a phone call!

Zara: '' Hello, mom, can you tell me if I  left my Lap top in my bedroom. No! Oh my ....then where?'

Irene: Zara, have your mom found it at home? No? Oh...then where? Anyway, Will you check your bag please?

Zara: No, Irene there is nothing but some of my books!

Irene: Okay, let us go.....

Zara: Where?

Irene: Just come with me, hurry.....

Zara: But, where? Where are we going?

Irene: Stop asking and just follow me, okay?

After a while they have reached in the cafe....there is a crowed of young pupils....

Far from....now Zara can see her favorite red lapy on the corner table....but why this young man eyeing on it?

Zara is approaching.....

Zara: Hey, hey....did you use my lap top?!

Young man: Me, are you mad? Why on earth I would use somebody's laptop? Is it yours? Ugg.....a red color....I just hate to touch it!

Zara: Hey, shut up! This is my favorite lap top, do  not say anything ugly!

Young man: Okay, okay, girl, come down and be sure I have not touched your favorite object.

Zara: Oh....what a liar! I have seen you  eying on it.

Young man: I was eyeing on it? How come? Actually...look, girl, actually I have been watching your beautiful photos....not your lap top, is it okay with you?!

Irene: Oh.....zara.....he is my cousin....actually I have been thinking for some days you both can be friends!

  • Hi bet! Well done! Great dialogue......but I am not sure if Zara wants to be friend with that young man after that incident. What is for sure is that Irene is doing of "matchmaker"!!  Maybe that works....who knows...

    Greetings!!!

  • Hi, Bet!

Have you ever lost your laptop?

I can't even imagine to lose my laptop, especially by forgetting it somewhere.

Thank you for using that word "eying". I didn't know about it's existence.

Nice blog, thank you for sharing!

  • Interesting dialogue!  :)

    Nice try bet!

  • Hum...yes, see how writing helps us to know more and specially about our errors!

  • Thanks...dear, I must do corrections.

  • Bet, I learned something new here.

First also means 'for the first time' (oxford), example "I can remember when this story first emerged[first as adverb], the same structure with since I last saw you. [last as adverb]

Thank you, dear. I'm glad that I always learn something new here.

    Have a wonderful day. :)

  • ** I think, you should make a phone call......OR I think, first you make a phone call...

[here may be a useful link]

** I have seen you were eyeing on it. [eying, UK]

[Perceptive verb | I see you eyeing it (means I see someone looking at it in short time, not the entire action); I see you eye it (means I see someone look at it from the start until someone finish it)]

'eye' is also verb but with object. It is without on

As 'eye' (as verb) means look at closely or with interest(oxford), you can say "I have been eyeing your beautiful photos"
