It's time for another game of Wordle Reflection! I have just returned from a trip to New York City. It was my first time in The Big Apple, and it was very exciting to see this historic city. I've created a Word Cloud of memories (this time I tried a different word cloud tool).If you're interested in learning all about my trip, come and play along!
Your Task:
1) Choose a word from my memory page Wordle (see above).
2) Guess why I included the word you chose. Write your guess in the comments.
How to guess:
a) Ask a question (direct): Did you play with Lego on the plane?
b) Use "I think" + past tense: I think you bought your kids Lego.
c) Use "I bet" + past tense: I bet Tara saw a Lego structure of The Statue of Liberty in New York City.
d) Use "I wonder if" + past tense: I wonder if Tara's hotel had Lego in the lobby. (No, it didn't, but that would be fun!)
3) Read my responses. I will unravel the story of my trip by sharing a memory (and sometimes a photo) related to each word after a guess is made. I'll respond in the comments too.

Camelia asked about the cue cards over in the video gallery, so I figured I'd tell the story! We were on the NYC subway one morning, and there was this man with cue cards. He would look at a card, flip it over, then put it down at his feet with his coffee. It was fascinating to watch, and I couldn't help wonder what he was doing. He was about 65 years old, and was wearing a suit. He did this for about twenty minutes. After trying not to stare at him for a while, I finally figured out what he was up to. He was studying English vocabulary! I tried to be discreet when I took my picture, but the flash was accidentally on. When my husband asked what I was doing, I told him I was looking at yesterday's photos on the camera and accidentally took a picture. It was a little white lie, so that the man didn't hear me. Anyway, this picture is for all of you. Mobile learning doesn't have to be with a smart phone. :)
@Salma Yes, these types of entertainers are common in touristy areas. I should have mentioned that they are called "mimes". I wish I had seen this one.
@Galina The story of the tree is on page 3 of the comments. You will see you weren't too far off. These were related by the 9/11 theme.
The mangled object was actually this sculpture called "The Sphere". The fact that it was mangled, but still "survived" is very symbolic, don't you think? It certainly gave me goosebumps. I'll let the plaque tell the story this time...

Tara, I want to try to guess the word mangled. I didn't know the meaning of the word before. The verb mangle means to damage or injure something badly by crushing or twisting it. So, I thought 'mangled' may refer to a tree. My questions are:
1. Did you see a mangled tree in New York?
2. I think it was very unusual.
3. I bet Tara was greatly impressed by the tree.
4. I wonder if there's any story behind the tree ( why is it mangled?).

Hello, Tara!
So, I was mistaken that Hell's Kitchen is a restaurant. Ok, frankly speaking, I doubted between two variants: a restaurant and a neighborhood in Manhattan. But then I saw the word mushroom and preferred the variant about restaurant. So, Hell's Kitchen, also known as Clinton and Midtown West, is a neighborhood of Manhattan in New York City between 34th Street and 59th Street, from 8th Avenue to the Hudson River. Am I right? Tara, you were lucky to see a street festiva in Hell's Kitchenl. I simply adore all such events.
Now about the mushroom....I was mistaken again. Tara, what a beautiful composition with the characters from "Alice in Wonderland"! The mushroom is rather big. What is it made from? And it's also in Central Park.....Now my dream is to visit New York and Central Park, but.....
BTW, I've been enjoying your stories. Amazing - you are so good at telling stories. Keep it up!
