Long Life

A newly bud started to bloom. As she opened her eyes at once she noticed a beautiful flower in full bloom. She said: hi, you are so beautiful. The flower appreciated her recognition and told her that in a few days she would become beautiful too.  A newly bud was so curious so she asked so many questions.” Do you like being here” she asked. The flower responded: yes, it’s so beautiful here and I like it when every morning the sun smiles at us and grants us her light generously, when cool breeze tickles me, when drops of rain kiss my petals, I just love it.  The bud asked: what do you like the most. The flower said: every day so many people pass by here some are busy to look at us while some others stare at us eagerly and admire our beauty then smile. I love it when I make them smile.

The flower talked about so many amazing things and added that although our life is too short but it is so wonderful.  Suddenly the bud said: short, but why? I like to live longer.  The flower told her that everything in this world has its own longevity; the important point is to live life fully and to enjoy every moment of it.

But it got the newly bud thinking. She was so worried knowing that she is not going to have a long life. The next day when she opened her eyes she did not enjoy the sun because her mind was so busy thinking how she could find a way to live longer. Suddenly she got an idea when she saw a passenger; she called upon him: sir would you mind picking me. The passenger asked why and she said: I want to live longer and I wonder if you could make that happen? The passenger told: I am afraid I can’t; on the contrary it might even make your life shorter.

The flower was observing her and told: let me give you a piece of advice, no matter how long we live we must get the most out of life and enjoy every moment of it then we would have no regret of wasting our life. The bud said: I am afraid I have to confess that you are right and I will try to do my best. But she was still wondering what it would be like if she had a long life.

  • Oh dear Anne, you comment cheered Me up. Thanks a million for your nice comment.
  • I love it Setareh!  You used "personification" in writing your blog. It is one of the literary devices which gives a touch of uniqueness in our style of writing.

People who worry too much about life is not content with their present predicament.  They want everything done in a haste.  Their focus is advanced and is always looking ahead.  By doing this, they are letting some precious time escape unnoticeably.  Later in life, they will regret that they don't take a heed to the passing days.  They will realize how they grow old very quick without achieving much.

Live like there's no tomorrow!  Happy people don't worry about tomorrow.  Who knows what tomorrow brings anyway?  Sounds like a song, eh? hihi.  Thanks Setareh!  Keep on blogging.

You are a very active writer!  Keep it up!
