When talking about jumping, then the best jumper on earth is flea. It can jump as far 200 times of it's own body length. To do that, it have a spring, or probably rather a bow like mechanism, in it's legs. Where it first accumulates it's muscle strength energy for Jump... And then it jumps by releasing that energy. Well it's probably something like this.. something analogous with the case too.
PS. Yet, I don't know how much time it takes for a flea to recharge, before Jump, I think, it's not long. I believe I've seen it Jump, quite continuously.. maybe there are half a second stops, or maybe a whole second stops, but.. still, when comparing how small a flea is then, it might still be - not so bad analogue....
