I read an article a few days ago and it said that Miss USA looked down on Miss Vietnam and Miss Cambodia because they can't speak English. Then, Miss USA received a lot of criticism and apologized to them. I wonder why she looked down on them. I hear some American people, especially young women, tend to look down on people who can't speak English and complain when they travel other countries and English is not understood there. Of course, English is the most spoken language around the world and very useful because we can communicate with people in other countries with it. However people in non-English speaking countries have their own language and can make a life without English. Miss USA may think the USA is the world, but of course, it isn't. Can you give me your opinion on her behavior?

Im from Vietnam and Im proud that Miss Vietnam made it in the top 5 this year. I wont say more about Miss USA behaviour since there are many people here did that. But I want to share more about this girl. She is the first Miss Vietnam who is from an ethnic minority of the Central Highlands with the all old backward traditions and customs. She had to try so hard to be educated and to escape from early marriage like her friends in the local. I admire her for her efforts to be a person as she is today even without English fluency though she need it in such the important contest. The translator is not good in Vietnamese and she did it badly. Miss Vietnam can understand some simple English conversations, but she is not good in speaking skill which need much time and chance to improve that she didnt't have in her circumstances. Your behaviours reflect your characters and this is so true in this case. Miss Vietnam donated all the money she was granted for poor people, and Miss USA... this is some simple words she spoke in English in BBC " "Hi everyone, I'm H'Hen Nie Miss Vietnam. I'm very very happy when I was [selected to] be in the top 5 of Miss Universe. The first one for my country. I am very very happy. You know I am an ethnic minority, I was forced to get married at 14 but I chose education. I'm from nothing and here I am. If I can do it, every girl can do it. "
english is not the only one lamlnguage in this world....and there are many people who can speak many languages...so, what or who is the best...?
