In Pursuit Of A True Friend

In this sarcastic world where everyone lives for himself, wills to have such people who may benefit him to the maximum for no gain, who may help him in need, and tend to him all the time, but (s)he never tries to be sincere, honest and true to his words in relation or friendship. Even (s)he is found reluctant to reciprocate due to egoistic nature. At the end, (s)he blames one another of separation.

We might read and see others referring to this famous proverb hundred times "A friend in need is a friend indeed" to motivate others for theirs own benefit on the name of friendship. In my view, it's exposure of their selfish nature. What is a friend? A friend is he who may be trusted in all matters that concerned with your personal life. A friend is he who brings you closer to Allah the Almighty, helps you practise all the commandments of Him and His Prophet (peace be upon him) and points out errors in you appropriately in private.

Contrary to the above content, I have seen many of us lay down the foundation of friendship with bricks of the lie and then try to win the trust of the friend, assuming that they are on the same wavelength, but after spontaneous efforts, they are separated when the reality reveals on any of them about the lie being hidden to strengthen the friendship. Thus, the tower of friendship founded with lies falls down. It is stupidity, isn't it?

What do you say?

  • Dear Arif bro,

I'm not sure what you're talking about. But talking a true friend, I have not many, some people who bring me closer to Allah the Almighty.

The ones whom I trust in ALL matters, I even haven't had it. Maybe it will be my future husband. hehe..

But at last, let me say.... "The friendship with the foundation of lies will definitely fall dawn someday."
