Guilty pleasure

You usually  hear or read a title then search for  suitable links  to see whether this title relevant  to the topic context   or notMany times in newspaper you read a title so far from the topic itself  , you read for example a title ;

" The  president divorces  his wife "

Then, you become eager to read this interesting news as the title catches your intention  but later on you will discover  a core of this news , it is  a film company will produce a film about  a president  who divorces his wife  The title is irrelevant  with context core of news. surely it is silly news ,but  the title obliges you to read  it.

I often  listen to enjoyable  Yanni  music ,  and  I find an ambiguous  title " guilty pleasure" . It is hard to find a norm to identify   the title with context  .But this title fires my  imagination , makes me think that no pleasure with guiltiness since guiltiness cause regret .

The title" guilty pleasure"  takes its meaning correctly  when you link it with God to find yourself  guilty ,regret , humble, when feel by guiltiness feeling you will  move pleasurably  to tear asking for His mercy and His forgiveness gives you  extraordinary release

This is my view of course

  • Dear MWM@most of us have experienced the same feeling. The conflict inside our minds is a sign of goodness .Man inclines to vice as it always brings a temporary pleasure while resistance to vice and conquer it brings you a feeling peace .
When you are being conquered by a vice and you turn and walk away from right path ,when you`re down and the world seems dark and empty , pray to Allah to lift you up in spirit from the guiltiness and make that dark and empty world suddenly seems bright and full. Because, Allah always has something for us, a key for every problem, a light for every shadow.
then you breathe a sigh of relief and feel of Guilty pleasure.
WMW, I am deeply indebted for your reading and nice commenting .

  • Anele @You are generous writer as much as I am greedy reader ,you always grant me your nice comments and I’ve never got bored of them , on contrary I feel consoled by reading them .By the way , I very often go to your page to follow your comments on EC, but in vain …..because you have changed your sitting recently , so I always return empty handed .

You describe Clayderman's music in such a very nice way You make me enthusiastic to listen to Clayderman's music so I will look for his music in Youtube .

Yes , I agree with you Anele .I can say generally , we feel guilty when we make things which are incompatible with wisdom , but we are human not angels .
Thank you very much my very dear friend .

  • It has been a long time ….at last I see your nice comment on my blog .It is a sunshine which illuminates my poor post . It is amazing enough to make me enjoy reading it .
I wish that my friend Ali to read your comment scrutiny too .Ali always tells me that he can’t forget his friend as he spent with him almost three years ,whereas I see that Vladimir Putin vorces his wife Lyudmila Shkrebneva and ends up 30 years of marriage. Each of them thinks of divorce thoughtfully , then they agree with each other about ending their marriage by divorce , they think it is the best solution for the problems wherein they differ .
Yanni is a very talented musician , I like his music .I hope to listen to his nice music .
Thank you very much Galina .

  • Hi Bala from India@ Yes , I use this title just to catch readers’ attentions just like other writers , seemingly I succeed to do it .
Sometimes we get bored so we need to break our routine ,so it is OK to eat much and make fun ….and feel guilty of those pleasures .hahah
Thank you very much for your nice comment .

  • Hi Sima .Many writers have such kind of titles , some of them use title as a metaphor which refers to something else and some authors use them just to catch readers’ attentions .
Do you know that some poets use sheep as a symbol to refers to God .
Your nice comment is a stunning gift, and you are always so kind person.Thank you so much sis.

  • Hi noaslpls ,Well .. that is a kind of guilty pleasure too You would like to eat some unhealthy food to feel pleasurable and as you have no resistance but when you eat them you would feel guilty and regrettable .
Thank you very much ….for adding your nice comment here.

  • Hello, Tawfeeq!

When I saw the title of your blog I thought you were going to write about the divorce of our Russian president Vladimir Putin. Some days ago he and his wife Lyudmila announced their marriage is over. The news has come as a shock to many Russians. We are not used to our learders getting divorced. The couple, who had been married for 30 years, made their divorce public on Russian state television after attending a ballet performance.

"It was a joint decision: we hardly see each other, each of us has our own life", Mr Putin said. Mrs Putin had rarely been seen in public in recent months, prompting much speculation in Russian media. She is known to dislike publicity, and told the TV reporter that flying was difficult for her. "Vladimir Vladimirovich is completely drowned in work," she said. The divorce was "civilised" and the couple would "always remain close", she said."I am very grateful to Vladimir... that he still supports me. And the children, he really cares for them and the children feel this," she added.Mr Putin confirmed on TV that the two were no longer living together."We are always going to be very close to each other. I am sure, forever," he said.

Vladimir Putin and Lyudmila Shkrebneva were married in 1983. They have two daughters, Maria and Yekaterina, both in their 20s."Our children have grown up; they have their own lives," Mrs Putin added..She and Mr Putin were last seen together at his inauguration for his third term as president on 7 May 2012.

Ok, a guilty pleasure is something one enjoys and considers pleasurable despite feeling guilt for enjoying it. The "guilt" involved is sometimes simply fear of others discovering one's lowbrow or otherwise embarrassing tastes, such as different kinds of entertainment, fashion, video games, music, films, junk food and so on... I think everybody experiences this feeling from time to time. A person isn’t a saint, temptation is familiar to everybody.

By the way, I haven’t heard about Yanni music. I’m going to listen to it….

  • For me, my "guilty pleasure" is like eating something you know it's not good for you, but you eat them anyway. LOL. For example, I know eating the second slice of that yummy cheesecake is not good for me, but I eat it anyway.

"Guilty pleasure" is always associated with something that you know is not good for you, in whatever forms, spiritually or metaphorically, but you do it anyway.
