Greeting in English

Hi,

Every time when I start chatting with somebody I write ,, How are you". Could you write some greetings. I know only: Sup!, Howdy? and How are you?

Thanks a lot!

  • We have the most beautiful GREETING in our culture (even in religion):

AS SALAMU ALAIKUM (though this is Arabic, but also used in Urdu and Hindi)

Meaning: "May peace and merci be upon you"

  • Oi John, [that's my greeting mode]

Here are some greeting phrases or expressions:

    Hi everybody

Hello peeps [people], what's cooking [ what's up]

Howdy folks, what's up [what is going on]

Hello roomies [people in the room]

And some replies to the greeting, whatever it may be:

Thnx, all fine, and what about u?

Sup. [usually the asnwer to - how r u?

Thanks, am doing fine, hope u ain't doing worse

Oh, thanks a lot, here all's ok, and there?

You can also invent some of ur own, as long as it keeps to the chat convention.

Trzymaj się, stary [Take care, buddy]

  • I would say to you John: How are you doing?
