Game 2: Don't Say "Yes" or "No"

yes

In this game I will start by asking a yes/no question about your country. The first person to read it will answer the question in the comment section. The trick to this game is that you CANNOT use the words "yes" OR "no" in your answer. After answering the question, write a yes/no question (not a "wh" question) using "in your country" for the next person. (In your answer don't forget to tell us what your country is.)

no

Example:Q: Do people celebrate Mother's Day in your country?----------------A: Mother's Day is not an official day off from work in the U.S., but most people pamper their moms by buying gifts or treating them to a day of R&R.Q: Does your country have a monarchy?----------------A: We do consider Queen Elizabeth our queen, but she doesn't have any significant power in Canada.Q: Is sushi popular in your country?-----------------Language Note: This game is useful for speaking practice because it encourages learners to broaden their vocabulary and vary sentence structure when giving an answer in English.------------------Let's begin:Q: Do women in your country typically work outside of the home?(Remember, you don't answer this question because it has already been answered in the comments. Answer the question from the last person who left a comment. Make sure you are on the last page of comments before you answer and leave a new question.)

  • Hmm, that's not really a yes or no question, Edward. I'll answer it anyway because it is interesting! :)
In Canada a loaf of bread is about $2 Canadian (our dollar is similar to US but goes up and down). A McDonald's meal is about $7. A new novel is about $20. A 3-bedroom house in my neighbourhood is about $250, 000.

Do people in your country walk dogs on leashes?
  • I am Chinese, thanks for ur supporting for chinese teams. and, of course there is a a "legal limit" on one's minimun salary in China.but the amount is different accroding to regions. for example, in my city, the limitation is 800RMB( about 115 USD) per month, but in some rural places, maybe only 500RMB(about 71 USD). It sounds terrible but actually not so bad, because most of those factorys provide free domitory and dining and maybe some bonus simultaneously. in consideration of low price level in China, the living condition of those people is acceptable.
OK, it's really a hard work for me to write so much, my qustion for next one is, how about the price level of ur country( u can tell me anyting, such as foods, books, property, etc.) ?
  • Nice answer Nuria! I love watching the Chinese team-especially the gymnasts.

Canada is in better shape than many other countries in this financial crisis; however, many have lost jobs, especially in construction and in the automobile industry.

Does your country have a "minimum wage" for workers?
  • answer Gamer's question: i'm very proud to say that chinese athletes will certainly have the chance at winning a gold medal at 2010 Olympics. What we wonder is how many gold medals they will get. In 2008, chinese team achieved 51 gold medals, 100 medals at Beijing Olympics. I belive our wonderful athletes will do better at next Olympic Games. let's wait and see.

ok, here's my question: Does your country suffer from the Finacial Crisis very serious?
  • in here women dose every thing she want's do
  • in here women dose every thing she want's do
  • Nice answer Suela! You forgot to write a question for us. This game must continue...

Here's a question: Does your country stand a chance at winning a gold medal at the 2010 Olympics in my country?
  • I forgot to add a question :) It means that I'm not a good gamer :( Fortunately I don't fall out of the game ;) so... In my opinion people all over the world use social networks however there are more and less popular of them. In my country a lot of people like to use of Nasza Klasa. Poles who look for their old schoolmates visit that web page and then they used to know what do their old friends do for a living, where do they live and so on...

Do people in your country prefer healthy food or fast food?
  • Agnieszka, I think that was an answer to my question. You didn't ask a question of your own, so I'll write another one. Do people in your country use social networks like Facebook or My Space?
