Finally he was married to his beloved

There was a young boy who wanted to marry a girl whom he loved greatly, but his parent proposed him another girl to whom he was completely unfamiliar. When his parent grew pressure on him to marry the girl selected by them, he left the house protesting that he would rather die but never take the risk of life.

He approached a sage and told him the whole story. The sage asked him the reason of telling the whole story. He told him that he had come there to beg him a amulet which might change the decision of his parent and then, they would marry him to his beloved girl. The sage advised him to marry the girl chosen by his parent  for him. He further said that the will of parent is the will of Allah, but he was too stubborn. He threatened him to suicide by diving into the wall nearest to him if  the amulet was not given.

Eventually, the sage had to concede his request, so he called him. He, then, wrote four lines on a chit, folded and gave it to him on that condition that he would not read what was written on the chit unless he married his beloved.

As soon as he reached home, his parent was anxiously waiting for him. They agreed to marry him to his beloved. Having received positive response from them, he thought that the amulet had worked for him. Finally the day came he was waiting for. He was married to his beloved. When many days of marriage went by, a wish bore at his heart to read what was written on the chit. So, when he opened it, he was shocked to have read it. Four lines written by the sage were:-

( the sage addresses Allah Almighty)

"I know nothing
He assents nothing
This is your servant and You are his Lord
You know him and know your job"

Moral message is not marriage but something else :)

  • Maya, please read my last comment once again. I'm sure you'll find your answer in these lines

" when the parent is wholly convinced that the girl being proposed by their son is a better match than they select, they agree".

Thank you for commenting though it was very personal, so what I replied you is a general opinion.
  • @arif: one thing I don't understand about arranged marriage is that you're parents wanted you to marry someone better and its nice of them to think like that as they love you. And you being their son will of course do what they wanted. But the thing is, you should be the one who choose whom youll marry as they're not the one who will be with that someone your entire life. Don't get offended but this is my views.
  • Hello Maya,
In our society, it isn't easy for a boy to bring his parent around to agreeing with the proposed girl who is complete stranger for them. However, when the parent is wholly convinced that the girl being proposed by their son is the better match than they select, they agree. In the whole affairs there are many complications have to be faced by both parties. So, it is easier and better to go for parent's choice :D

    Thank you the comment.
  • For me it's not about the amulet or the sage, it's about his parents who took his side just to make him happy :D

  • Absolutely, there is no need to tell you more :)
Thank you sharing your viewpoints based on your experience which is absolute necessary for a blogger to know.
  • Dear my brother,,

First, should I tell you everything detail? There's no luck or miracle without efforts. No need to tell you more.

Second, when you post a blog, people will read and comment based on their view, what their concern. Whether it's the point or not, it's their view, and still related to your writing. This is not the first.

I see that the boy's thinking about suicide and amulet is not right and deviate, anyway. The message is good to learn. Always implicit note you wrote. But, there's no regret there. He seems do enjoy it. That's my concern. I don't agree, because it's not a good even not right attempt.

Third, don't worry. I'll keep bugging on your blog. Whether you'll say it's the point or not, I'll share my opinion. :))

  • Secondly, the amulet whether real or faked is not the point, the point to be noted is the firm faith in the sage whose main duty is to turn the servant of devil to that of Allah and His Prophet (peace be upon him ) what the end of short story tells about. He who recognizes the real sage is really genius.
  • Well chan :)
There are some rules we apply before leaving everything to Allah Almighty. For instance, when you wish to hold degree of master, you need to enroll in a university, be a regular student in the class, note down all necessary points of lectures, compile them in a notebook, revise them before appearing in your final exam, do your best in the examination hall, then you leave the result on Allah Almighty and this is He Who declares the result. Besides this, Allah helps those who help themselves. If everything is left to Allah Almighty, what is wisdom for? Allah shows the miracle by the action of His believer after long patience.

Thank you so much for commenting.
  • Although it's a fake amulet, he should not believe that his marriage happened because of it. After knowing that it's fake, he should ask forgiveness to Allah Almighty.

    So lucky he is.
