Dialogue: On Exam Days

PUTRA, an eleventh grader, had followed a computer-based exam, multiple choices.
Me: How was your Physics exam? :)
PUTRA: Impressive, Teacher!
Me: How impressive? Tell me! [listening enthusiastically]
PUTRA: My laptop had stopped working many times so that I got less than 50
Me: TT

DIAN, an eleventh grader, had followed paper-based exam, essay.
Me: How was your Math Exam yesterday?
DIAN: Oh, good news, Teacher. I got the highest score in the class.
Me: So why do you look so sad?
DIAN: I got 53 of 100. My friend even got 3 of 100.
Me: :S

ANDA, a sixth grader, coming late to the course place.
Me: Why do you come late? Your schedule finished an hour ago.
ANDA: Sorry, Teacher. I forget the schedule today.
Me: Okay, it's fine. What exam will you follow tomorrow?
ANDA: Science
Me: Please show me your book!
ANDA: [after a minute] Oh, I forgot to bring it.
Me: Fine, you can use this paper. Now write the answer of my oral questions
ANDA: [after a minute checking bag] I'm sorry, I don't bring any pen.
Me: -_-

Yeah, full of colors. ^_^ It really made me feel strong. lol

Oh, that sayings..."teacher is an unsung hero".... made teachers here paid inexpensive. :D *seriously kidding.

Yup, real teachers should be patience and perservering to see the improvement of their students.

Many many thanks for your visit. Glad to see you around. ^^

  • Dear Mishaikh,

Thanks a lot for your comment. ^^ The real problem was his laptop, not the internet. I helped re-installing it on the next day.

Well, yes, some students now lack interests of studying...That time, the teacher will feel hopeless. :(

Wish you a good day! :)

  • Poor little ones, don't make them work on weekends.

Hehe.. I feel you. I have my own 'grown pupils' too so I know such feeling :/

  • Hi Onee,

Oooh...your life is color full ya ^_^. Not only that actually, but your life is full of challenging as well. You need to be happy having those student like that, because it makes you stronger day by day lol.

One thing that I never forget from those people who spend their life to be a teacher is their sacrifice, patience till making us to be nowadays. I thank you for them. In our native they called "Pahlawan tanpa tanda jasa". Better you translate it in English because you are better than me in this part ^_*.

Thanks for sharing such lovely story about your students.

  • This irresponsibilities on the part of the third student.

The first one using laptop or computer for online test.  It is the poor service of internet.  I also face such situation back there in Karachi, where internet service is not consistent and it got DC time and again.  This is the responsibility of the authorities to provide good internet services in a cost which everyone can afford.  I do not experience any such problem here in USA, be noted that there you can do anything if you do not have an internet service, but it is not a big problem because internet service everywhere, even if you are on the road, your wi fi works, how I do not know yet.

You have pointed a concerning problem our students are facing, lack of interest, poor or Expensive IT service, and other resources.

Thanks Onee for sharing your concern.

  • Hi Rajesh!
