Bad moral or good moral?

Have you ever heard about Jack and the Beanstalk?
Here are the points of this story.
-Jack had a cow, named Blossom. He did love her
-Someday his mother asked him to sell his cow, since they didn't have any money for their rent.
-As he was taking the cow to market, the odd old man bought  his cow with magic beans
-After he was at home, his mother got angry with him because of it.
-She strewed the beans over the window
-Next morning, this bean turned into a big beanstalk
blaa...blaa... until Jack stole some gold from the giant. And the end of the story that Jack got many of treasure, but jack stole all of that thing.

I just want to share, I don't agree if we use this story for kids, because this story teaching about stealing. It's not a good moral for kid's story. It's just my idea. And this story is for myself and just for learning english instead. What about you guys?

  • Yes, I agree with you. Last week I listened to this story online. I was so excited to listen to it at first because when I was a little child I remember watching its movie on TV and had a good impression for me although I didn't really comprehend the whole story because of the language and my age. And now, after listening to the whole story, I was wondering. Was it supposed to be to teah good deeds instead of stealing. And not only that, Jack axed the beanstalk without considering the giant whether it would hurt or killed the giant or not.

It shouldn't be teach to children, that's what I believe now.

  • There is a kind of tales in that way in my country, too. We need to teach kids that stealing is not a good thing and don't do like Jake did.
