14th August: Pakistan Independence Day

Every country has his unique way of celebrating his independence day. The celebration of this day, actually, reminds us the sacrifices made by our elders for the sake of our future. Everyone has his own motive for seeking independence or demanding a separate homeland where he can cultivate whatever he wants just like a newly married bride desires for a separate home where there is no interference in carrying out her own ideas, so she may easily pursue her dream or imagination.

Similarly, our elders demanded a separate homeland, which came into being on 14 August, 1947 (27th Ramadan) on the ideology of Islam under the leadership of a great leader, Muhammad Ali Jinnah, popularly known as Quid-e-Azam which means "the leader of leaders", one of the most successful lawyer. This homeland is commonly known as Pakistan. Its official name is Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Pakistan is the only Muslim state which has nuclear status.

When it comes to celebrating any festivals like Eid, or independence day, our children are so much active. They force their elders to buy small buntings so that they may decorate the home with them. On this occasion, school management organizes speech competition, debate, and function in which students are given different role to represent different cultures of Pakistan. When I was child, I used to wait impatiently for this day and celebrate it just like Eid festival.

Whereas, youngsters keep riding bikes while listening to the national songs. Local people organize some programme keeping in view of interest of their people. However, there are a few people who realize why we have gained independence and what is the purpose of celebrating this day. To me, This day is the day of realizing sincere sacrifices of our elders who jeopardized their lives for our sake. This day is the day of self accountability as a citizen, as a civil servant, as a businessman, as a politician, and as a nation how much we have gained and how much we have lost and blame on self individually rather than justifying our blunders.

Long Live Pakistan!      Long Live Pakistan!

  • You are most welcome! I got the theme of your message despite having some errors in it. I myself make such mistakes many times while commenting and blogging. If you wish to know more about my country, you are welcomed to my page for this purpose. Thank you once again so much for commenting
  • "Internal conflict is more dangerous than an offensive from another country" Thanks for the correction. :))

You're always welcome, and our pleasure to have you come to Indonesia. I wish that too. Let's see whether I write or not, I'm not sure.:D

  • Dear Onee sister,

You are only first commenter who appreciated my style of expressing my patriotic feeling. I really feel satisfied now :). Pakistan came into being Islamic ideology but those who have nothing do with Islam and those who were against creation of Pakistan have highjacked it. Therefore, I have to agree with you that internal enemy is more dangerous than external enemy.

I have met many Indonesians here. I wish I could visit many countries including Indonesia and meet our sisters and brothers in real. You are going to write a blog on independence day, aren't you? I wish Indonesia all the best too!

Happy Independence Day to you and all Indonesian friends in advance! Thank you so much for commenting and appreciating my scant labour.
  • You described it very well, Bro Arif. "Happy Independence Day" for Pakistan. Sorry for being a bit late.

In all countries, it's the duty for the next generation to maintain the freedom. And it's more difficult. What you said is right. "...as a nation how much we have gained and how much we have lost and blame on self individually rather than justifying our blunders". Intern conflict is more danger for a country itself than the offensive from another country.

However, let's do our best for our own countries. Tomorrow (17 August) is my turn to celebrate Indonesia Independence Day. :)

Thank you so much for sharing.
