  • Hello Tara

I really enjoyed  listening to the story of your name and also listening to your voice, really cool :)

  • Hi Tara,

Ineresting story of your name. Greetings to your father. I was also named by my father. I was his first daughter and he named me Hanane because ,translated into English languge it gives tendeness and love. My father had lost his mother when he was six and he misses her a lot and was always in need of her love, care and tenderness.

By the way my father died in 1999 on the 09th of February, like today. I missed him a lot :(

  • hi Tara , i have answered your question on my second part video plz take look when u get free :)
  • dear tara, ur beautiful..what's the girl's name? kleenex??
  • Great quiz, Expector!
  • Can any learner here tell me which is/are true about Tara's name?

    1. Tara's father wanted Tara to be a lawyer when he gave Tara her first name.

    2. Tara's father named Tara after a nice girl whose first name was Tara.

    3. Tara's father gave Tara the name when he was enjoying a vacation in Hawaii.

    4. Tara's father might have hoped Tara would be a nice girl when he first named her.

  • Dear Tara,

I really enjoyed to hear the story of your name.

Congrats to your father,he  had chosen a nice name for you.:))

  • Does anyone here want to join me in completing the message from Tara's father? It can be a listening challenge.

    Dear Tara,

It's great to hear from you. Yes, we're having a good vacation in Hawaii. However, I want to tell you how nice the weather is. I don't know anything about...

  • People here used to name their children after some famous people. Actually, I shared my first name with a famous leader. I don't think my parents wanted me to be a national leader when they gave me the name. They might just have wanted me to excel.

I wonder whether one's name really matters?

  • Wow, I love it! I wonder if 'Tara' is a popular name in Canada or in English-speaking world.

'Expector' isn't my real name. There's a story about my real name, though. I don't think the story will interest you, because I'm not sure you're familiar with the culture background here. By the way, there's no such thing as 'married name' in China - women here never change their names for the marriage.
