Thanks for your comment, according to scientists, they are sinkholes made by the water effect specially in a limestone ground, where the land is soft and the water carves the caves of course it takes thousands of years to have that perfect round form. Some submarine arqueaeologists have dived on their waters and they discovered that in some regions, the cenotes are interconnected and thousands of years ago, they were empty of water, because they found evidence of ancient fires.. probably.. that is the theory, a tsunami or tide elevation caused the floods of these caves..
